About Hiring Coders

Created in 2019, Hiring Coders is an educational program that offers scholarships over three months and whose main objective is to train talents to work in the world's leading digital commerce companies. The initiative is part of a series of actions by VTEX to reduce the shortage of professionals and increase diversity in the segment. According to estimates by Brasscom (Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies), by 2025 the technology sector will open 797 thousand vacancies, of which 530 thousand should not be filled due to lack of professionals. Together, the first two editions of Hiring Coders registered more than 50,000 subscribers. In the previous edition, in 2021, 43% of the participants identified themselves as pretos or pardos, 35% as women and 18% as non-binary or transgender.

With asynchronous content, Hiring Coders offers full stack training and contact with professors recognized by the market, in addition to mentoring from VTEX engineers and leaders from leading technology companies. The learning process is based on real challenges, which prepare students for the final hackathon, when the developers of the best APIs (“Application Programming Interfaces”, or “Application Programming Interfaces”) will be awarded. All participants who complete the program will receive the Hiring Coders Certificate and the VTEX IO Certificate.
