State-of-the-art technology will bring more operational efficiency to the traffic on your network, improving connectivity for end customers of operators and internet providers

V.tal, Brazil's largest neutral end-to-end fiber optics infrastructure company, has hired Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world's largest IT infrastructure service provider, to optimize and virtualize traffic and routes throughout its terrestrial network of more than 430,000 km of fiber optics. With this agreement, V.tal will continue to drive the digital transformation through its customers, who are telecom operators and internet providers, allowing them to improve their users' high-speed internet usage experience.
With coverage of more than 19 million addresses with fiber optics in all regions of the country, V.tal needed a reliable technology partner with deep network knowledge to support its expansion plan and route optimization. For this purpose, it hired Kyndryl, which will supply the virtualized Router Reflector, a solution that brings even more agility to V.tal's network, helping it to expand its capacity to serve customers with the same performance in all regions where it operates.
The Router Reflector is a fundamental piece of equipment in the modern internet routing infrastructure. It is responsible for distributing the network's signal routes, ensuring that the paths and data deliveries are accurate. As V.tal's infrastructure is shared by several client companies, Kyndryl's solution also virtually separates the routes of each client, allowing independence and neutrality of services even within the same network. With the virtualized Router Reflector, V.tal will have an optimized and robust network infrastructure with multiple functionalities.
“Because it has the largest neutral fiber optic network in the country, V.tal is always working to optimize the traffic of all customers, which requires a constant evolution of the ability to deliver a resilient service with ever-increasing quality”, says Cícero Olivieri, Vice President of Engineering at V.tal. “In Kyndryl, we found an important partner, which has the experience in networking services to integrate an ecosystem of technology providers and implement modern network solutions, making our infrastructure even more robust”, completes the executive.
Businesses of all sizes and industries increasingly rely on connectivity to thrive in the digital age. And to meet the growing demand of its users, operators and local and regional providers have become interested in the model of neutral, fixed or mobile networks, which require lower capex and contribute to improving their commercial performance.
“The expansion of the neutral network model like that of V.tal is strategic to drive the digital transformation of small and large companies from all sectors and across the country. Kyndryl is pleased to offer cutting-edge solutions that help companies in the telecommunications industry modernize their network infrastructures. Ultra-fast connectivity will allow local businesses to thrive and innovate in their respective fields,” explains José Felipe Ruppenthal, New Generation Network Consultant at Kyndryl Brasil.
