Trend Micro Deep Security Enterprise and Smart Protection for Endpoints (SPE) solutions were chosen after completing a Proof of Concept
Trend Micro Brasil, a world reference in cybersecurity solutions, was chosen by the Pará Court of Justice (TJ-PA) to ensure the protection of on-premise servers and workstations of the body linked to the Ministry of Justice. In all, 6,000 licenses are being implemented for endpoints and 350 of the Deep Security™ tool, an intelligent solution that protects servers and hybrid environments, offering a comprehensive set of security controls.
TJ-PA decided to raise the level of security on its network after suffering a domestic incident in a legacy application. “We were already on alert after the attacks on the STJ and the Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Sul, and we had plans to invest in the security area, when we had a domestic incident in a legacy application. It was a graffiti on a secondary page, which is not visible to users. After the fact, we managed to extend the protection, which initially would only be for the servers, to all the workstations”, explains the coordinator of Technical Support of the Court of Justice of Pará, Arilson Galdino da Silva.
Trend Micro was chosen by TJ-PA after carrying out proof of concept, which is a practice used by companies to test solutions in the market through simulations and documentation of evidence. The partnership has already yielded good results. “Thanks to an anomaly alert on a device on our network, which had different characteristics, we identified a vulnerability laterally. We verified that it was a ransomware incident and we were able to act through the signaling of the platform”, he celebrates.
Trend Micro's solutions are protecting the entire on-premises cloud, the TJ-PA Data Center, which includes the infrastructure of virtualized application servers, database, proxy, as well as 6,000 workstations. For Galdino, Trend tools offer more than flexibility, agility and efficiency. “The partnership brought confidence, results and especially visibility, which we didn't have before, we didn't know if we were being attacked or not. Now I sleep more peacefully, because we receive alerts, we have information about blocked files, necessary updates. The Court of Justice is a very critical environment, we cannot afford to lose information, data, files, processes. I saw the tension on the part of professionals at the time of the attack on the STJ, it was a battlefield there, and we want to avoid that”, he concludes.
According to Renato Tocaxelli, Government Account Manager at Trend Micro, the investment by the Court of Justice of Pará in the security area demonstrates the agency's responsibility and awareness of the current Brazilian scenario. “We are one of the five countries most attacked by ransomware that has focused especially on the public sector, precisely because of the low investments. By increasing multi-layered protection, and professionalizing the management of its assets, TJ-Pará is staying one step ahead of cybercriminals”, he analyzes.
