The company has just joined the UN Global Compact, a United Nations initiative that aims to mobilize the global business community to adopt and promote, in its business practices, the Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and combating corruption

TIVIT, a Brazilian multinational that connects technology for a better world, announces its membership in the United Nations Global Compact in Brazil, an initiative of the United Nations (UN) to mobilize the business community to adopt and promote, in their business practices, 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and combating corruption. With the creation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Global Compact also took on the mission of engaging the private sector in this new agenda.

“We have a commitment to contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive world in our DNA. Joining the UN Global Compact is a significant step that reinforces our long-term vision and responsibility as an industry leader,” says Paulo Freitas, CEO of TIVIT. “This commitment guides us in maintaining and implementing practices that promote not only economic growth, but also social well-being and environmental preservation,” he says.

TIVIT has long been integrating the principles of the Global Compact into its operations and business strategy, focusing on actions that positively impact its communities, partners and customers. Among the initiatives highlighted are: TIVIT Institute, with actions that help young people from public schools with the aim of preparing them for the job market through technical training. The initiative includes Accelerate Cloud, with a program that brings together knowledge of cloud computing, with an emphasis on the AWS platform for young people between 15 and 24 years old; Career Mentoring and Employability Journey, with the aim of guiding and generating opportunities for high school students looking for their first job; Green Studio, with studios delivered by TIVIT to schools to support the creation of audiovisual projects, among others.

The TIVIT Institute relies on the involvement of volunteer teachers and employees of the company itself. Since its inauguration in 2017, the project has already benefited approximately 1,000 young people directly, 3,000 people indirectly, mobilized 420 volunteers and involved more than 10 educational institutions in its activities. In the first half of this year alone, the Institute registered more than 170 registrations.

“TIVIT Institute’s initiatives aim to train young people interested in technology for the job market. It is rewarding to share our knowledge and boost careers. We will continue to invest in actions that promote the development and inclusion of new talents,” says Freitas, CEO of TIVIT.

By joining the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, TIVIT reinforces its role as an agent of transformation in the technology sector, committed not only to digital innovation, but also to building a fairer and more sustainable future. Launched in 2000, the Global Compact guides and supports the global business community in advancing the UN goals and values through responsible business practices. With more than 20,000 participating companies distributed across 65 local networks, in addition to 3,800 non-business organizations based in 101 countries, it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with coverage and engagement in 162 countries.

already the UN Global Compact in Brazil was created in 2003 and is now the second largest local network in the world, with over 1,900 participants. The more than 50 projects conducted in the country cover mainly the following themes: Water and Sanitation, Food and Agriculture, Energy and Climate, Human Rights and Labor, Anti-Corruption, Engagement and Communication.
