Acquisition of shares in the Parque do Vento de São Mizael project and purchase of wind energy for the next 12 months should represent R$ 40 million in investments; Excess energy will be directed to the National Electric System, helping to neutralize Brazil's carbon consumption.

With the start of operation of its venture in Parque do Vento de São Mizael, TIVIT, a Brazilian multinational and technology one-stop-shop, now has 100% of its energy consumed in the country from wind generation.

The Park is part of the Rio do Vento Complex, in Rio Grande do Norte, in a joint venture with Casa dos Ventos. The acquisition of its shares by TIVIT, added to the purchase of energy for the next 12 months, should represent investments of around R$ 40 million.

With 30 offices and four of its ten data centers located in Brazil and operating in nine more countries in Latin America, TIVIT sees the use of wind energy as an important step towards neutralizing its carbon consumption impact on nature. The goal is to produce 100% of clean energy in sufficient volume to cover energy consumption from traditional sources in its operations by the end of 2021.

In addition, as the wind farm's production of wind energy is greater than the volume consumed in the company's operations, excess energy is directed to the National Electric System, helping to neutralize Brazil's carbon consumption.

“TIVIT is aware and committed to reducing its carbon footprint in the midst of environmental and sustainability issues, which have become increasingly urgent”, says Paulo Freitas, CFO of TIVIT. “We made the necessary investments to supply our energy consumption through one of the largest wind projects in the world. We hope, through this action, to continue to positively impact society, encouraging the self-generation of clean energy in a country that has 75% of its energy generated by hydroelectric plants and is going through a difficult time”, completes the executive.

The project built by Casa dos Ventos, a company that works in the development of wind projects in Brazil, in partnership with Vulcabrás, is in a location with one of the best wind conditions in the country. With its full production load, as of 2022, it is expected to generate approximately 1,200 jobs and will have an installed capacity of 504 megawatts.
