In place of Andrés Navarro, José Orlandini takes over as the new chairman of the board of directors of the Chilean multinational. The executive projects continued growth for the new global expansion cycle, with high-impact projects that accelerate the digital transformation of its clients and investments of around US$ 340 million for the three-year period
SONDA, regional leader in Digital Transformation services, announced that, after 48 years at the company, since it was founded in 1974, Andrés Navarro ends his term as chairman of the board of directors. In its place, José Orlandini, who acted as global CEO and has a 37-year career at the company, takes over.
Navarro leaves SONDA at a time of consolidation: the company operates in 12 countries, successfully entered the United States, consolidated a structure that allows it to grow rapidly in new markets and closed 2022 with the highest sales figures in its history, totaling US $1.69 billion, and revenue of US$1.24 billion.
“I am proud of the team we formed at SONDA, which made it possible for us to successfully face important challenges. Today, I want to give way to new leaders, who, I am sure, will continue to develop this company not only regionally, but also globally”, explains Navarro.
With the path paved, Orlandini will aim for expansion and growth in the United States, looking at projects in Europe and other parts of the world, in addition to the proactive search for companies to grow inorganically, expanding the offer and geographic coverage. To this end, the new chairman of the board of directors ratified the investment plan for the three-year period 2022-2024, which includes US$ 340 million.
“In 2023, we are prepared to continue growing strongly. Our strategy of specialization in the delivery and integration of technological solutions by the industry allows us to compete globally from any country in the world and in any market. Added to this is the fact that companies and governments need technology more and more, which is an opportunity to expand in a sector that grows at rates greater than 10% per year”, comments Orlandini.
Changes in the regional structure
In Orlandini's former position, as global CEO, Luis Alberto de la Cruz takes over, who until then had been serving as vice president of services and has a consolidated career at SONDA with extensive knowledge of the sector.
In addition to Navarro, the board also leaves Mario Pavón and Raúl Véjar, who made a significant contribution to helping SONDA optimistically project a new cycle of expansion in America and around the world, with innovation initiatives that guarantee to support customers on their path to the Digital Transformation.
consolidation period
Over the past three years, SONDA has consolidated its growth with good financial results and redefined itself as a company with global reach, prepared to face the coming decades with a solid base in its strategic plan.
Among the most emblematic projects that SONDA has developed in recent times, we highlight the digitalization of the Metrobús fleet, in Mexico, and the award of Infovia Digital, in Brazil, for the implementation of more than 6 thousand kilometers of fiber optic networks. In addition to the projects, the implementation of Internet networks in more than 700,000 hectares in southern Chile with the “Bosque Iluminado” project and the digitization of means of payment for the Panama Metro can be added. Altogether, the deals add up to more than US$330 million.
