Sky.One, a technology company that supports companies to add intelligence and agility to their processes, simplifying the way they consume technology, has just announced the new Partner and Legal, Compliance and Governance Director, Renata Barros. The executive arrives at the company with the aim of improving the level of governance corporate body of Sky.One, working on all legal and compliance issues, aiming to contribute to the company's significant growth.
According to the survey “Compliance maturity in Brazil”, by KPMG, 75% of executives state that the culture of compliance is essential for the company's successful growth. In response to this scenario, the new executive already has a strategic action plan, which includes highlighting the company's internal controls. “I am very happy to be part of Sky.One and I am convinced that the first results of the new board will be noticed from the beginning of 2024, as evolving the company's regulations means understanding compliance as an ally of the business”, says Renata.
The Director also foresees new business opportunities focused on data and cybersecurity, based on the strategic vision of complying with the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD). “To ensure sustainable growth, Sky.One has been committed to complete legal security in relationships, both contractual and with investors and employees, including regulatory compliance. With this in mind, I intend to contribute to the observance of the important actions already consolidated, adding even more robustness to them”, explains the executive.
Ongoing projects
Renata reveals her intention to implement a Structured Risk Committee, which will have synergy with the Privacy and Data Protection Committee, already existing in the company, and now under her management. “Sky.One has grown exponentially in a short space of time. Therefore, we are evolving the level of mapping and assessment of risk criticality”, he reiterates.
The Board will also be responsible for the Ethics Committee and for actions aimed at Sky.One's Code of Conduct, whose values guide the attitude of all SkyOwners. “Sky.One It is a very successful company, as it values integrity, respect and responsibility in conducting business. Therefore, I feel honored to be part of this project and contribute with my knowledge so that our clients can take the path to the clouds with agility and innovation”, highlights the executive.
Professional experience
Graduated in Law from Centro Universitário FMU, Renata has a postgraduate degree in Digital Law, Innovation and Business Ethics, from FIA Business School, and in Civil Procedure, from PUC São Paulo, in addition to an Executive MBA in Business Management, from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
Additionally, it is certified in CPC-A anti-corruption compliance by LEC – Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Development in Corporate Governance for Executives by IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, ESG Management by Insper and Legal Design through the Cool Creatives.
With more than 20 years of experience in the legal field, the executive has held important positions in large companies in the financial sector, such as Banco Carrefour and Santander, in addition to working in the corporate banking legal department at Demarest Advogados.
