 – Optimizations, driven by SoftwareOne, accelerate and support Brainiall in providing its services that generate significant revenue increases, reduced raw material waste and energy consumption for its customers

– Project enabled a simplified approach capable of reducing Brainiall’s sales cycle from eight to just three months

Prepare the entire technological environment to expand the customer base and accelerate your solutions. That was the main pain Brainiall, an independent software provider (ISV) and Software as a Service (SaaS) focused on bringing Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation to the next generation of the industrial market.

It all started with Brainiall's desire to grow and enter new markets, as highlighted by the company's CEO, Fabio Suizu. “We were looking for an alternative that would accelerate our SaaS solutions with cloud modernization”, he explains.

The executive clarifies that Brainiall's cloud-hosted AI service uses data from its customers' Internet of Things (IoT) devices and other inputs to function as an autopilot, integrated directly into supervisory control systems to collect data from sensors, calculate optimal process parameters and make automatic adjustments to operations.

With this, AI automation software can help mining companies increase yield in the milling process – in which large pieces of rock are broken to extract minerals – by 8%, which can increase revenues by millions of dollars and reduce energy consumption by around 3%, saving costs and reducing environmental effects.

Suizu explains that, previously, the company used public cloud technology, but faced difficulties in scaling its model. “We demanded stronger security and the ability to collect, process and analyze data in real time from our cloud services, with a focus on performance, flexibility, reliability, lean architecture, maturity in the application of AI, machine learning and economics costs,” he says.

To raise this technological level, the company relied on the expertise of SoftwareOne – leader in software solutions and cloud technology and services, which was responsible for rebuilding Brainiall's architecture on Amazon Web Services (AWS), thus obtaining more control over its solutions, improving performance and reducing consumption costs of the cloud. “We chose SoftwareOne and the migration to AWS because we believe that this partnership would bring us significant technological and business benefits”, highlights the executive.

Step by step of a successful project

To achieve its objectives, Brainiall chose to participate in the NextGen ISV Modernization Program from SoftwareOne with AWS, which is designed to accelerate and de-risk the ISV business transformation journey by offering incentives and guided services for product modernization.

SoftwareOne began developing the project by identifying Brainiall's needs and business vision to then plan transformation and innovation strategies. “We carried out an AWS Assessment, that is, a diagnosis, to evaluate the technical requirements to develop and operate a new and improved architecture for Brainiall's IoT mining solution in the AWS cloud”, explains Cleyton Leal, Technology Services Sales Leader at SoftwareOne.

Brainiall's CEO clarifies that the company's AI services are relatively new on the market. However, AWS and SoftwareOne provided the technology resources needed to achieve goals easily and quickly. “Before, we had several systems in place, but we lacked control over them. Now, we have a holistic solution and can control the entire process, in addition to directly customizing the cloud environment. This not only saves us development time, it takes us to a whole new level of performance and flexibility,” says Suizu.

Benefits with cutting-edge technology

As a result, the project enabled Brainiall to implement a new go-to-market strategy to expand its AI-SaaS offerings to new customers through AWS Marketplace. They were also able to optimize their IoT SaaS solution with a completely new architecture on AWS, which includes near real-time processing and visualization of over 100 mining variables such as mill speed, humidity, pressure, and water flow.

The project also resulted in the development of a digital twin to provide insights into how different actions can support the business to expand faster. Cutting-edge technology now allows the company to demonstrate its solutions to potential customers with unprecedented efficiency and speed by virtually replicating its mining environment, bypassing time-consuming processes such as regulatory compliance and requesting access to Dice. “Our prediction is that this streamlined approach will reduce Brainiall’s sales cycle from eight months to just three months,” said Suizu.

In addition, the company can more efficiently serve its current customers, implementing environments more quickly and adapting them to meet new needs through machine learning.. “In this way, customers benefit from an optimized and robust solution that will help increase productivity and make mining processes, such as grinding, more effective. This will help these companies to significantly increase revenues, reduce raw material waste and energy consumption, contributing to the sustainability of the sector”, ponders the CEO of Brainiall.

Another advantage achieved was the significant cost optimization that, with the modernization of technology, reduced cloud consumption expenses in 201TP3Q. “Using AWS services, we estimate that the total cost of ownership for projects is now up to 50% lower than it was with your previous public cloud provider,” states Suizu.

For Brainiall's CEO, the true power of the company's AI services lies in its ability to dynamically control and automate processes, optimizing performance and efficiency. “Now, the integration of cutting-edge AWS technologies has further paved the way for our future success thanks to SoftwareOne’s extensive experience in applications, data and AI services, and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership.” executive.
