New version of Progress WhatsUp Gold offers advanced configuration management features, configurable views for NOC and enhanced reporting mechanisms for better insight into IT infrastructure

Progress (Nasdaq: PRGS), a trusted provider of infrastructure and application development software, announces the release of Progress WhatsUp Gold 2023.0, a new version of its award-winning IT infrastructure monitoring software. The update expands the infrastructure monitoring system to provide broader access to network data across the organization, while also helping NetOps establish clearer and faster communications.

Modern IT infrastructures have evolved into complex networks of physical and virtual systems, switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, cloud resources, services and applications – often provided by multiple vendors. Using WhatsUp Gold, organizations benefit from a powerful combination of out-of-the-box functionality, intuitive workflows and system integrations to manage complexity and quickly find and fix network infrastructure issues. With this release, the Progress raises the level of engagement for all users, from network administrators to executives and non-technical contributors, by providing better access to data for everyone and improving alignment and collaboration in the network operations center (NOC).

“Ensuring the ability to collect, analyze and access network data through a single tool, to help make quick and assertive decisions, is increasingly important for businesses in the region”, highlights Francisco Larez, vice president of Progress for Caribbean and Latin America. “The challenge of reducing IT infrastructure downtime must be faced with a reliable and efficient solution, such as WhatsUp Gold, capable of keeping the entire operation under control”, adds the executive.

What's New in WhatsUp Gold 2023.0:

  • Advanced configuration management – Improved configuration management plug-in provides better performance and security, as well as more tasks performed. Organizations can add devices to their tasks according to the documented technical limitations for the product.
  • Configurable views for NOC – A new viewer for NOC automatically displays multiple screens of data in a cyclical fashion to help staff gain complete visibility into current and potential issues.
  • Scheduled HTML reports via email – ensure that everyone in the organization, regardless of technical experience, can easily receive updated WhatsUp Gold data in a user-friendly format. Additionally, administrators can save data files directly to specific folders.

WhatsUp Gold monitors everything connected to the IT infrastructure and displays it in an intuitive, interactive mapping interface. Administrators can deploy the tool to help monitor, measure and troubleshoot infrastructure, as well as track application performance and network traffic. Sophisticated alerting and reporting capabilities simplify the way organizations diagnose failures so they can quickly resolve issues. PC Pro recently added WhatsUp Gold to its “A List” of feature-rich, easy-to-license, and affordable products, giving it five stars in their review.
