CPTIS was created to generate opportunities and train manpower for customers and partners

Trend Micro, a world leader in cybersecurity solutions, is with open enrollment for the IT Security Certification Program. The aim is to qualify recent computer science graduates with the practical knowledge and skills needed to take advantage of job opportunities in systems engineering and sales in the IT security industry. The experience of the young person can also be considered in place of the diploma.

christened of CPTIS, the training program began in 2018 and is now in its fourth edition. Applications must be made by September 5th.. At each stage, 20 young people are selected to attend classes with teachers from Trend Micro and partner companies for 7 weeks. This is the second time the 100% course has been held online.

“We created the program for two purposes. First, help train professionals, both to strengthen our teams and to provide manpower for partners and customers. There are millions of jobs available around the world for cybersecurity specialists. And the second aspect is the social aspect, because we wanted to give opportunities to people who would hardly have access to companies and the world of technology, where there are more growth perspectives”, explains Miguel Macedo, Trend Micro's Director of Channels and Marketing in Latin America .

CPTIS aims to develop physical and social skills so that participants quickly become effective at work. After an initial orientation period, which guarantees all students a common base of knowledge, the classes focus on the technical domain (pre-sales and after-sales).

The curriculum includes the following modules:

  • IT Security Fundamentals;
  • The IT Security Market;
  • Trend Micro Product Portfolio;
  • Selling IT Security;
  • Basic Communication Challenges;
  • Technical (pre-sales and post-sales engineering roles).

It is worth mentioning that students perform written, oral and group exercises, in addition to tests. Classes for this fourth class start on September 20. Entries must be made by email. The candidate must send a cover letter (PDF – up to 500 words) telling a little about their training or experience in IT and explaining why they have the profile to participate in the program.
