fintech intends to help plant thousands of trees in the coming years
as part of your sustainable initiative
paySmart, fintech that allows any company to become a digital bank, is taking an important step in its sustainability journey by committing to zero carbon emissions by 2023. The initiative was launched during World Environment Week and it is part of the company's efforts to act in sustainable and community causes.
“Each company and each person needs to do more for the environment if we are to prevent irreversible climate change from happening. It is necessary to demand our governments, but also that each one of us is more proactive in the matter. At paySmart, we decided to place sustainability as one of the pillars of our growth and we want to encourage employees, customers and partners to do the same. In the 21st century, financial profit can no longer be the only indicator of an organization's success”, says Daniel Oliveira, CEO of paySmart.
As part of the initiative, paySmart intends to help plant hundreds of trees a year and eliminate its direct – and part of the indirect – emissions of Greenhouse Gases in 2021. To this end, it has entered into a partnership with The Green Factory, a consultancy for innovation in the area of Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG), and with the Black Jaguar Foundation, a non-profit organization that plans to create the largest natural corridor of biodiversity on Earth. “The support of partners such as paySmart is critical to planting native trees on a large scale and helps us in our mission to implement the largest reforestation project in South America,” explains Carol Sacramento of the Black Jaguar Foundation.
