Flavio Hott, CTO of Energy & Transportation at Huawei Enterprise Brasil, presented the advantages that connectivity brings to highway concessions

Huawei, a leading multinational in infrastructure for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and smart devices, participated in the Rodovias do Futuro 2023 event, organized by the Brazilian Association of Highway Concessionaires (ABCR), where it presented its main solutions for the automotive market. highways in Brazil and data on the importance of connectivity, such as 5G and Wi-Fi 6 for the future of infrastructure in the country.
Among the solutions presented is the intelligent monitoring system, which uses cameras with artificial intelligence and Big Data to reduce operational costs and improve security. The technology allows, for example, the analysis of wear on the road, detection of smoke and fog or other incidents, allowing for more effective action.
For Flavio Hott, CTO of Transport at Huawei Brasil, “technology will enable infinite possibilities, but connectivity is fundamental to thinking about an interconnected future pattern. Huawei currently operates with all available technologies, but it is necessary to expand the availability of mobile networks with 5G and Wi-Fi 6.” The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, also addressed the importance of connectivity for highways during the closing of the event.
Hott participated in the panel “Vision of the Future: Innovation and Technology for Brazilian Highway Infrastructure”, along with Sergio Garcia, CEO of Arteris, Eduardo Camargo, president of CCR Rodovias, Marcello Guidotti, CEO of Ecorodovias and Marco Aurélio Barcelos, director -president of ABCR. For executives, the future of highways will be guided by sustainability, diversity and innovation.
A similar view was also pointed out by the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, who participated in the event's opening panel, and said that the three themes are also on the federal government's agenda.
Huawei has practical examples of the use of technology used in the transport and infrastructure sector on all continents of the world that demonstrate how to collaborate on the topics discussed. With two thousand kilometers of highways connected across Brazil, the company presented the complete portfolio, including products such as the intelligent traffic video monitoring system, the connectivity system using optical networks (FTTM), 5G and Wi-Fi 6. Huawei also collaborates on the first connected highway project in Brazil, located on the north coast of the State of São Paulo.
