The Internet of Things (IoT) has a high level of synergy with the advancement of innovation in companies, since the development of solutions depends on non-trivial approaches. According to the IoT Snapshot study, developed by Logicalis, a global information and communication technology solutions and services company, for 57% of Brazilian companies and 42% of Hispanic-American companies, innovation is a strategic pillar.
The material – prepared from interviews conducted between August and September 2021, with 255 executives – shows that 33% from Brazilian organizations and 13% from Hispanic-American organizations participate in innovation hubs, aiming to get closer to startups.

According to Yassuki Takano, Director of Consulting Services at Logicalis, the topic has been gaining prominence in the perception of executives in relation to corporate strategy. “During the development of this edition of IoT Snapshot, we realized that technology not only has the potential to present solutions to current challenges during this crisis, but also the ability to transform and solve old problems in the most diverse sectors of the market”, he comments.
In both Brazil and Hispanic America, around 30% of companies have internal processes focused on innovation or a budget dedicated to the area. Despite this, only 18% of Brazilian companies and 22% of Hispanic-American companies include the topic of innovation within their training programs, which may reveal that companies still have few structured actions or have actions of limited scope on the topic.
“We believe that having developed innovation practices can be beneficial for the advancement of IoT, however, there is still a long way to go in terms of structured actions for the implementation of the theme within companies”, concludes Takano.
