NTT DATA now has José Luís Menghini in its team of professionals. The executive, with decades of experience in the energy sector, arrives to support the development of activities of companies in the electricity, O&G and energy sectors in general.

Menghini has a vast professional career. He was president of companies such as Inframérica, IMPSA and Positron Public Systems, occupying the board of entities such as the Brazilian Association of Basic Industry (ABDIB), the Brazil-Argentina Chamber of Commerce, the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association (Abimaq) and the Canadian Council for the Americas, among others.

“Having an experienced professional like José Luís Menghini among our professionals shows how NTT DATA is committed to offering our customers the best services”, says Raphael Saueia Bueno, leading partner in the Utilities sector at NTT DATA.

Menghini is an electrical engineer graduated from the University of Brasília (UNB). He holds a master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the National University of Rosario, in Argentina, and has passed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University, in the United States and the CEO Program of FGV, being a certified member of the IBGC.

“I hope to contribute with my experience in systems integration and in electricity generation from renewable sources, transmission, distribution, lighting and smart-grid in addition to O&G to help NTT DATA in its objectives, that is, to understand and support its customers in the best way possible. possible way,” Menghini said.

For Menghini, the main challenge for concessionaires in the Brazilian electricity sector in the short and medium term is to be competitive and adapt to the free energy market. According to the expert, this requires “a major functional and cultural change for all companies, as well as having an adequate supply of electricity from renewable sources that can be unquestionably verified”. The permanent work of cost control, investments in innovation and digitalization continue to be fundamental, he says.

In the case of the oil and gas sector, the biggest challenge for oil companies is to make the energy transition quickly and profitably — so that they can achieve the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. “At the same time, companies in the sector of oil & gas sought to maximize the good use of Brazil's enormous off-shore resources, such as the pre-salt layer, via less polluting thermal generation, increased consumption and production of derivatives — not excluding hydrogen — and other businesses,” he says.

What is valid for all sectors, according to the executive, is that the adaptation of companies to the new reality must be supported by good digital tools. To be able to achieve quick and cost-wise benefits both in the energy transition and in the good use of renewable sources and natural gas. In fact, companies in the electricity sector and all oil companies will need to streamline their digital life and use state-of-the-art digital solutions, such as, among others, Metaverso, to reduce operational costs and optimize real-time responses for all their customers. customers without decreasing service quality or increasing operational or logistical costs. NTT Data is prepared to understand and solve each of these challenges and every combination of them”, says Menghini.
