MCTI Futuro aims to train professionals and programmers with practical experience across the country and will be launched in May
On April 6, Minister Marcos Pontes, during his traditional “Science & Technology Chat” on the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations on YouTube, announced the launch next May of a new national technology program: MCTI Futuro.
The program, which aims to promote large-scale technological training for researchers and students in emerging technologies, will be coordinated by Softex. For its realization - in a public-private partnership model - partnerships have already been signed with more than 40 companies that are beneficiaries of the ICT Law (Law No. 8,248 / 191) and more than 30 ICTs accredited to CATI.
“The future belongs to knowledge and to young people. Thousands of them will have the opportunity to work in the ICT sector thanks to this joint effort between government, companies and ICTs. This is another way of transforming knowledge into products and generating foreign exchange for the country ”, said the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations, Marcos Pontes.
According to data from a survey carried out by Softex's intelligence, studies and research unit, the deficit of IT professionals in the country is expected to exceed 408,000 in 2022. And the process of digital transformation, accelerated by the pandemic, tends to further reinforce demand by specialists in emerging technologies, precisely the focus of MCTI Futuro.
For the president of Softex, Ruben Delgado, "this is an innovative and scalable training model, focused on both the work of the future and the future of work".
The president of Assespro, Italo Nogueira, participated in the chat; Brasscom's president, Sergio Paulo Gallindo; the president of Datacom and the Superior Council of the P&D Brasil Association, Antonio Carlos Porto; the director of Inatel, Carlos Nazareth Marins; and the director of Planning and Institutional Relations - Embrapii / MCTI, José Luis Gordon.
