Konica Minolta Japan, a pioneer in optical technology, has just adopted the InterSystems IRIS for Health ™ platform to integrate patient data with hospital systems from any of its devices. As a creative data technology provider dedicated to helping customers solve the most complex problems of scalability, interoperability and speed, InterSystems developed the IRIS for Health platform specifically to extract value from health data.

When using the HL7® FHIR® standard, the software supports connection, visualization and automated use of clinical data between Konica Minolta Japan devices and other healthcare institutions' systems, such as the electronic medical record (EMR) . On the InterSystems IRIS for Health platform, developers can create and scale healthcare applications with tools that are designed exclusively to meet current and future healthcare systems needs.

Konica Minolta Japan is a digital company focused on a wide range of solutions covering different markets. In the health area, the company provides diagnostic imaging and ultrasound systems, as well as solutions for centralized management and use of clinical data for medical solutions, including archiving and document systems.

From the partnership, InterSystems will provide the IRIS for Health platform for Konica Minolta Japan to develop its new system that supports the automated connection, visualization and use of all clinical data normally dispersed in various systems, including electronic health records, images diagnostics, lab, documents and more. Thus, InterSystems supports Konica Minolta Japan's objectives of contributing to the improvement of quality and safety in patient care, in addition to efficiency gains.

“We are very pleased with Konica Minolta Japan's choice of the InterSystems IRIS for Health platform as the primary technology for the development of their health system. Our platform is compatible with the new HL7® FHIR® standard for exchanging health information and its ability to process data at high speed was highly regarded, ”says Masane Hayashi, country manager at InterSystems in Japan.“ Through the interoperability of FHIR and from our support for the development of new systems that process and analyze large amounts of health information at high speed, we collaborate so that the necessary information is delivered to health professionals to reduce their fatigue, which is becoming a growing social problem. ”
