VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), a global benchmark in enterprise software, announced that Kit Colbert has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer, CTO. Previously, he held a leadership role in the Cloud unit.

Kit Colbert, the new CTO from VMware
Colbert joined VMware in 2003 as a technical lead for the development and delivery of vMotion and Storage vMotion features in VMware vSphere. Throughout his career with the company, he has held various roles, including Cloud CTO, General Manager of Cloud-Native Applications, CTO of End-User Computing Business, and Chief Architect of VMware vRealize Operations Suite.
As part of his new role, Colbert will shape the company's technical vision and transformation process into a subscription-centric and cloud-centric Research and Development (R&D) organization. His performance also includes the supervision of the VMware Engineering Services team, the Design/UX team and the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance commitments.
