The executive arrives at the local operation of the Japanese multinational with the objective of leading the company's progress according to the strategies of the 2025 plan, pre-established by the company

NEC announces the arrival of José Renato de Mello Goncalves to the presidency of the company in Brazil. The executive, who has more than 20 years of professional experience working in major technology players, arrives at the organization with the responsibility of leading the local team and continuing to achieve the medium-term goals in the company's 2025 plan.

Gonçalves worked for eight years at Orange Business Services, where he became vice president of operations in Latin America, a position he held for the last four and a half years. Before that, the executive worked in the Brazilian operation of Verizon Business and Nortel, always with a business orientation, in leadership positions in the commercial area of these companies.

With a degree in engineering, a discipline studied at the Escola de Engenharia Mauá, in São Paulo, Gonçalves now leads the NEC team in Brazil at a key moment for the company, which involves the evolution of the business along with the strategic pillars of growth, which are focused on Mobile RAN, Digital Identification and Smart Cities, supported by the country's extensive experience in networks and security.

“With my arrival at NEC, I will support the team in order to enhance the offer of value-added services in the market, in addition to having the immense opportunity to grow with the implementation of 5G in Brazil ahead of us”, says the executive, who completes: “I understand that my leadership profile is fully aligned with the company's vision, which has strong values and principles oriented towards people, and this was one of the factors that most influenced my decision”, he concludes.
