LiDAR sensors and intelligent sensing solutions join distributor's security and IoT portfolio
”The Quanergy LiDAR solution complements our security and IoT portfolio. Among the solutions are perimeter security, crowd management and people counting at events, which offer remote sensing optical technology”, says Alexandre Nakano, Security and Networks Director at Ingram Micro Brasil. “These are solutions with very high precision, orientation and intensity, even at long distances”, adds Nakano.
Companies from various segments will be served by Ingram Micro, such as mining, industry, transport, security, energy and finance. “We want to reach our entire current channel ecosystem and gain new partners, as well as help expand Quanergy across Latin America. This market segment is new and growing”, says the director of Ingram Micro Brasil. According to IDC Brazil, the IoT segment should move US$ 745 billion worldwide in 2019, with the potential to surpass the US$ 1 trillion mark in 2022. Investments in machine learning and artificial intelligence for the security sector should reach US$ 671 million.
“Our goal is to be the main IT security distributor in the country, and Quanergy will help us to leverage the sale of physical security solutions and integrated systems, for smart cities and defense, as well as infrastructure products such as switches, servers and network security,” says Nakano. According to him, the manufacturer also brings new business opportunities. "Quanergy brings with it other partners that Ingram can partner with to deliver unique solutions to the market."
For Gary Saunders, Quanergy's Chief Revenue Officer, security solutions based on LiDAR bring a differentiated value to the distributor's strategy. Regarding expectations, Quanergy believes that Ingram Micro will increase its exposure and recognition in Brazil. “By choosing it as our distributor, we intend to leverage the technical resources, partnerships with ecosystem integrators and customer relationships to solidify Quanergy as the undisputed leader in intelligent sensing solutions based on LiDAR in Brazil”, concludes the director of Quanergy.
