Collaboration provides for international certifications in ICT and three fiber optic laboratories in DF, BA and TO. By the end of the year, it is expected to train 2 thousand professionals
Huawei and the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI) announced on Thursday, 8, a partnership that will offer courses with certification for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector and the installation of professional training laboratories to the market. In view of the expansion of the internet through optical fiber to all regions of Brazil, not only to large centers, Huawei and SENAI will initially deliver three state-of-the-art laboratories for installing and maintaining FTTH technology (Fiber to the Home or optical fiber) to the Federal District, Bahia and Tocantins. The laboratories aim to serve the NEM-NEM generation - young adults who neither work nor study. It is also planned to create the ICT Academy SENAI / Huawei program, which will initially offer distance and face-to-face courses with international certifications in the areas of Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, optical fiber and 5G.
By the end of the year, it is expected to train 2 thousand students. The first classes of FTTH laboratories in Bahia, Tocantins and Distrito Federal, with 20 students each, and the course 5G - Applications Industry will have free subscriptions.
The objective of the partnership is to solve one of the main challenges in the sector: the deficit of qualified labor. According to a market survey carried out by Teleco, 62% of the internet service providers, ISPs, face difficulties in finding qualified professionals for installing fiber optics. The North and Northeast regions are the regions with the greatest disabilities. Still according to the study, 81% from ISPs have their own teams, that is, they need to invest in the qualification of professionals because they do not find it in the market.
At a time when the world depends on 100% connectivity, ICTs have become allies for anyone who sees this area as an opportunity for growth and market insertion. In the future, qualified professionals through the partnership will also be able to work on the construction of fiber optic networks that will cover the 5G mobile network. Huawei constantly invests in education programs. In the past 5 years, these initiatives have already trained more than 36 thousand students across the country, and the expectation is to train 40 thousand more talents in the next 5 years.
“Today there is a gap in the market for professionals trained to operate in the installation of optical fiber, used to cover demand for fixed broadband. With the new 5G networks, this demand tends to increase. At the same time, there are a number of idle youth, who for various reasons are unable to qualify to work in the labor market. With this partnership, we are not only fighting unemployment and giving high quality courses to these young people, but also investing in the development of the country's infrastructure, ”said Bruno Zitnick, Director of Public and Government Relations at Huawei.
“Entrepreneurs are committed to the innovation agenda and the industry should be the first sector of the economy to benefit from 5G. We will have a transformation from the factory floor to the office, with connected machines and equipment and new functions, but, before that, it is necessary to guarantee the network infrastructure. Always in line with the demands of the labor market, SENAI signs another partnership to train technicians and specialists in enabling technologies in industry 4.0 ”, comments Gustavo Leal, Operations Director of SENAI.
The partnership between Huawei and SENAI started in Paraná in 2019, with the course of Technical Installer of Mobile Telephone Equipment in a state-of-the-art laboratory for wireless, microwave and FTTH (Fiber to the Home) technologies. Since its creation, the training has trained and retrained around 200 professionals from Huawei partners.
“A critical point is human capital. We received a study that pointed to a concrete demand of more than 200 thousand jobs. The donation of three FTTH laboratories is strategic for the great challenge of digital transformation in the productive sector in Brazil. The opportunity to make these labs available in DF, BA and TO, and hopefully in other units of the federation too, will contribute tremendously to the speed of incorporating digital and 5G technologies into the production environment, which will bring productivity gains, acceleration of innovation processes , and gains for society as a whole ”, defended Alvim.
