Contrary to many sectors that suffered from the pandemic, information technology companies in Santa Catarina are experiencing a period of frank expansion and are even struggling to find labor to sustain the sector's growth. According to data from the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), 16,612 new vacancies should be created by 2023, with more than half of them – 9,303 posts or 56% – for software developers.

According to the organization, there will be 4,500 new jobs by the end of 2021, 5,300 in 2022 and 6,600 in 2023. The issue even led the State Government to create a working group to establish hand policies specialized work in the medium and long term.

One of the pioneering companies in the sector is Dígitro Tecnologia. With over 40 years in the market, the company has over 50 open positions. There are openings for different roles, from internships to analyst and developer positions. Opportunities are available on the link https://digitro.com/carreira

Programs to attract new professionals

An attractive benefit plan and career development opportunities are among Dígitro Tecnologia's bets to attract new professionals. According to Mariana Polli, People Manager at the company, most of the opportunities open at the company today are aimed at professionals with a technical profile.

“There is a greater challenge in hiring vacancies for the Development area, within the Technology Board, a sector of the company that manages the Development and Manufacturing areas, planning, establishing strategies and controlling performance indicators”, says Mariana . Within the strategy of attracting and developing people, Dígitro has expanded education and support programs for career development. See below three important aspects of actions aimed at people in the company.

Continuing Education

Since 2011, about 150 professionals have benefited from academic training programs. Dígitro subsidizes part of the tuition fees for undergraduate, graduate, MBA, certifications and specialization courses in general. To encourage good performance in studies, the company also recognizes the student with the best performance during the semester with the payment of a full tuition fee. Employee Andreza Duarte benefited from the project in 2012. “The program gave me the possibility of getting confirmation for the area I wanted to pursue. At the time, I worked with technical support and the service that fascinated me the most was the database. In addition, I got the confidence and courage to apply for a job in database development, which is where I work at the company today”, he says.

career development

An environment that allows for the growth and development of professionals in the long term is also among the characteristics of Dígitro Tecnologia. The company has an average permanence rate of 6 years and 11 months, much higher than the 1.76 year rate in the technology market. There are many cases of professionals who entered operational functions or as interns and developed within the company's career plan.

Ivon Eduardo Esser Rosa is one of those collaborators. In 2007, when he was attending technical education, he joined Dígitro as an intern. After this period, Ivon continued his studies, held the positions of electronics technician, technologist, project analyst and technical consultancy, commercial coordinator and is currently a commercial support manager. "An important point is the thought of entering into new challenges. Dígitro, on a daily basis, presents several opportunities for new projects, with challenges that even test its current knowledge, usually requiring the search for additional knowledge to make it possible to carry out the expected delivery”, evaluates Ivon.

remote work

Long before the pandemic, Dígitro had already instituted a home office policy. Since 2014, the company had employees with a remote work contract. Coronavirus coping protocols accelerated this process. At the beginning, the nearly 400 employees were all put into remote work. Gradually, the routines were adapted to the hybrid format. But in the reality of the new normal, Dígitro has adapted and today incorporated totally remote work as a contracting modality.

This is the case of developer Davi França. He lives in Brasília and since July has been part of the Dígitro team. “Since the first virtual contact, I realized that there was something different about the team. When the integration started, it was very well received and I felt part of the team even working from home. I've already had an experience with home-office and Dígitro's is totally different, as the daily contact with the teams, the totally open space for communication, using UNA, is something super advantageous”, says França.
