Extraordinary General Meeting re-elects Marcos Pereira Chairman of the Softex Board

With the participation of the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Marcos Pontes, the Association for the Promotion of Excellence in Brazilian Software – Softex, promoted this Monday (26) its Extraordinary General Assembly, held in conjunction with the Ordinary Meeting of its Council of Management.

On occasion, the federal deputy Marcos Pereira (Republicanos/SP) was re-elected chairman of the Softex Board of Directors and federal deputy Vitor Lippi (PSDB-SP) was re-elected vice-president for a two-year term. ). Ruben Delgado and Diônes Lima continue, respectively, as president and vice president of the entity.

Marcos Antônio Pereira is a lawyer, master in Constitutional Law, professor, legal author and is the current 1st Vice-President of the Committee on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship of the Chamber of Deputies. Former Minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services and National President of the Republican Party, Marcos Pereira is from Espírito Santo and was elected federal deputy for São Paulo in 2018.

“We have bold and extremely disruptive projects in the pipeline for this biennium in the areas of microelectronics, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship. All of them with the same central objective: to boost the development of Brazil through the expansion of innovation and competitiveness of the Brazilian productive sector”, said Marcos Pereira.

Vitor Lippi is a doctor, was Secretary of Health, Mayor of the city of Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo, President of the Sorocaba Technological Park, and is serving his second term as federal deputy. In addition to being the rapporteur of the Special 5G Technology Subcommittee in Brazil, he is also a member of the Science and Technology, Communication and Informatics Commission (CCTCI).

Working in favor of the development of Digital Transformation for almost 25 years, Softex creates, promotes and executes initiatives in the national and international scope in the areas of technology and information. Today, it has established itself as the main Brazilian institution connecting actors from the three spheres: Government, Academy and Private Sector.

“It is a very emerging sector, more than 30% of growth in 2020, and we have a technological revolution going on, everything will need technology and software. Our digital age is just beginning, I feel honored and I trust the sector as a generator of jobs and opportunities”, commented Lippi.

The programs under its execution have already benefited the acceleration of more than 5,000 startups and around 6,000 companies.

Softex operates in all Brazilian states and in 20 countries in the Industrial, Agribusiness, Trade and Services and Logistics sectors in the Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Health, Aerospace, Automotive, and Security verticals.
