  • Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales, members of Software République, are launching their first open innovation challenge
  • Competition starts now and is open to startups, entrepreneurs, SMEs, research institutes, academics or anyone wishing to become an actor of the new European mobility

Since the announcement of the creation of Software République in April 2021, the six members have aimed to develop the mobility solutions and systems of the future.

To spur innovation in an open ecosystem, Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales are jointly organizing a new competition called 'The Mobility 4.0 Challenge by the Software République' '). This is the first time that six major European companies have joined forces to provide data, technical tools, hardware and software prototyping platforms, knowledge and experience, providing candidates with the opportunity to create disruptive and valuable cases for mobility in Europe.

Candidates will work on one of the five themes below using data provided by Software République members:

– Improved user experience related to electric vehicles

– Multimodal accessibility

– Intelligent Transport

– Cybersecurity

– Open ideas

This is a unique opportunity for all participants to present their ideas to the main digital and mobility players. Selected candidates will have access to the data needed for their project and will have the support of experts from the six companies to help them formulate their value proposition and develop the prototype of their idea. Winners will be integrated and incubated by Software République, with privileged access to R&D facilities. In addition to potential industry opportunities, those who win will also benefit from media exposure at an internationally renowned technology exhibition and office space on one of Software République's partner sites.

The jury is composed of representatives of the six members of Software République:

– Sophie Proust, EVP Group Chief Technology Officer of Atos Group

– Laurence Montanari, Vice President, Transport and Mobility Industry at Dassault Systèmes

– Frédéric Vacher, President of the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab at Dassault Systèmes

– Jean-Marc Lafond, Director of IoT Portfolio at Orange Innovation

– Luc Julia, Scientific Director of the Renault Group

– Gilles Le Borgne, Renault Group EVP Engineer

– Frédérique Le Grevès, Executive Vice President, Public Relations of STMicroelectronics France and President and CEO of STMicroelectronics France

– Stéphane Royer, Thales Group Chief Data Officer

Participants have six weeks to apply, from September 6th to October 13th, 2021. From a pre-selection, the best entries will be followed in a prototyping phase from October 20th to November 20th. Participants will then have two weeks of preparation, from November 20th to December 6th, to present the project to the jury. The final decision and the announcement of the winners will take place in December.
