The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) extended the public consultation process regarding Certics, a software certification methodology and its associated services. The possibility of participation is open for another 45 days, since September 14, 2012, when the measure was published in the Official Gazette of the Union.

The methodology proposal will be available at the following address: http://www.certics.cti.gov.br/concepcao.html. Contributions, questions and information will be received and answered by email consulta_publica@certics.cti.gov.br.

Certics is part of the Strategic Information Technology Software and Services Program (TI Maior). It is an instrument that identifies, accredits and differentiates software and its associated services, with the aim of generating local value and global competitiveness for Brazil.

Aimed at companies developing software and associated services, located in the national territory, of different sizes, sectors and business models, membership is voluntary and serves as an instrument for those seeking qualification for preference in public purchases and differentiation in the market.

MCTI issues certification through the Secretariat for Information Technology Policy (Sepin). The assessment to obtain certification is carried out by the Renato Archer Information Technology Center (CTI/MCTI).
