Public consultation is open to update the Brazilian Strategy for Digital Transformation (E-Digital), launched in 2018 via Decree No. 9,319. The objective is to provide another channel for integration between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and society, in order to guarantee broad social participation in this process, emphasizing mainly the definition of priority strategic actions.
The Covid-19 pandemic strongly contributed to the acceleration of the digital transformation, with impacts on the country's reality. The world of work has changed, with the adoption of the home office to isolate the population, increasing the adoption of internet services and data storage throughout society. Another factor was the deepening crisis of the shortage of digitally qualified labor to face the new needs.
According to CGEE's technical advisor, Lucas Motta, updating E-Digital plays a leading role in this scenario. He emphasizes that the analysis of the elements of digital transformation must be centered on the strategy's capacity to expand the country's competences, in order to integrate itself into the global digital economy. “This way, it will be possible to promote sustainable and inclusive economic and social development, with innovation, increased competitiveness, productivity and employment and income levels in the country”, he says.
The update is based on the original structure of the Brazilian Strategy for Digital Transformation, formed by enabling and digital transformation axes, which are transversal and equally important. In order to achieve the objectives defined in each one, E-digital foresees a set of actions, of a continuous character or with a fixed term of execution, whose partial results can be found in the E-digital Diagnosis.
