Institution implements Forcepoint DLP, a solution that mitigates, identifies and isolates threats, without impacting operations

Brasoftware, one of the largest technology providers in the market, implemented Forcepoint DLP at the Centro de Assistência Socio-Educativo ao Jovens de São Paulo Foundation (Fundação CASA/SP). It is a security solution focused on Data Loss Prevention, which features predictive analysis against ransomware, antispam and hacker attacks, for example, based on parameters established from embedded technologies. in the solution.
Forcepoint DLP ensures information integrity and allows you to map, classify and protect data by defining preventive and proactive actions. “It is no longer necessary to have a problem and only then intervene; the tool sends alerts and notifications through constant monitoring and, if necessary, blocks the machine and isolates the threat from the network. This means working one step ahead to prevent virus or ransomware intrusions that compromise your business environment — and gain speed in the analysis of malicious artifacts”, comments Forcepoint's Brazil Regional Director, Marcelo Saburo.
With the support of Brasoftware's security experts, Fundação CASA's IT team implemented data classification policies, linked to security policies, which resulted in a drastic reduction in the number of false positives and raised the level of information control .
“The tool offers unified protection of data and IPs for Fundação CASA, in a hybrid and multi-cloud way. It has the ability to monitor both ends: it can analyze what is 'on-premise' on the client's file server and what is being replicated to the cloud through security policies defined in the Forcepoint solution,” he says. Rodrigo.
The Forcepoint solution adds value because it mitigates, identifies and isolates the problem without impacting the customer's operation. As a result, it optimizes analysts' time and, with a robust solution, can generate reports for decision-making. “All the 'machine learning' behind the solution is like a Swiss army knife for us, as we have a lean team in the area, and the self-diagnosis role of the tool has been very effective throughout the institution's infrastructure”, he says. the CIO of Fundação CASA/SP, Julio Signorini.
Fundação CASA's digital transformation process with Brasoftware
Until 2006, known as Febem, Fundação CASA annually provides assistance to around 19,500 young people between the ages of 12 and 21 throughout the State of São Paulo, carrying out socio-educational restriction measures. When dealing with critical data, tutored by the State, the institution is in a growing relationship with the degree of maturity of data management, as well as in a process of continuous digital transformation.
In 2021, Brasoftware implemented Veritas solutions at Fundação CASA, focusing on the institution's data protection management. In the last 18 months, the Foundation continued to undergo changes and the number of devices operating on the network increased from 4500 to almost 11 thousand devices. In addition, of the more than 10 thousand employees, almost 1000 are working in the home office model (the tendency is to reach 3 thousand by the end of 2022) and the implementation, therefore, was another important step in the entire security policy that the institution has been adopting.
“The adaptive risk analysis that the solution added within our park was a great differential. It brings a dashboard that we didn't have, such as behavioral risk analysis, the type of access the user has at hand, the way this data is manipulated”, explains Julio Signorini, CIO of Fundação CASA/SP. “Today we have a very comprehensive overview of all the stored data and we manage to have a risk map, since the teenager's information is subject to legislation and there are impacts on the way he is treated”, he adds.
Therefore, for Rick Vieira, it is not simply implementing a tool, but acting in an advisory manner and presenting the best security solutions. “Brasoftware has a mature methodology for implementation, support and consultancy, which allows us to identify points of failure and customize a security architecture according to the needs of each client”, he says. “We are committed to quality, deadlines and costs, and for the customer it is very advantageous to have a company that can offer this type of guarantee”, he adds. “With certified and trained professionals, Brasoftware has been a strategic partner in the security policy process that we have adopted within the institution”, concludes Júlio.
