Initiative aims to solve the Company's strategic challenges
BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world and present in more than 130 countries, opens the doors of its platform BrfHub to receive applications from partners interested in offering technological solutions and solving the Company's strategic challenges. The 2021 Challenge Program is part of the strategy to accelerate the development of new businesses, whose mission is to bring startups, scale-ups and researchers to BRF. The Company accepts applications until April 16.
By launching important business challenges to the global innovation ecosystem, the company seeks to connect with new partners so that they can develop together and fulfill the mission of feeding the world with quality and sustainability. Participants go through a selection and the management of the selected projects is carried out by a team of specialists in the area of innovation. All entries must offer innovative ideas applicable to the challenges of BRF.
“BrfHub was born and exists to unite different innovative agents for the same purpose. We want to be spokespersons and co-authors of open innovation in the world, and a reference in innovation in the food sector. We are looking for solutions for the entire agribusiness chain, from the field to the consumer's table, capable of making our processes more efficient and sustainable, in addition to new products such as alternative proteins. With the selection of new partners, we want to bring initiatives that turn into impactful businesses ”, says Sergio Pinto, BRF's Innovation Director.
For the selection of partners, BrfHub has steps that include the pitch day - the day of the presentation - and a month of immersion with specialists from BRF to assess the project's viability. The main themes of 2021 are: New Channels sales and service, New Products with innovative technologies for the portfolio, Sustainability generation of positive socioenvironmental impact and Digital Technology focused on productivity, agility and automation. After completing the project, those selected may receive a proposal to definitively integrate their technology into the BRF chain.
“At BRF, we go beyond connecting with startups. We want to generate engagement and bring a culture of innovation inside. With that, we will approach researchers with an entrepreneurial profile, whether from universities or research institutions. We are looking for opportunities that allow the exchange of knowledge between academia and the private sector, science and the market ”, concludes Sergio Pinto.
Registration for the challenges is free and all phases of the Program will be virtual. Thus, the company seeks to connect with entrepreneurs from around the world, in line with its strategy of internationalization of the business. The new partners will receive mentoring to carry out their pilot project and will have the support of specialists from the Company, in addition to providing the necessary resources. The most varied types of entrepreneurial teams are expected, with a focus on those that have specialists in their respective area of knowledge.
