The team's technical capacity was a differential for the success of the project, considered critical and carried out in the off-season
Atvos, one of the largest bioenergy companies in Brazil, faced the challenge of migrating the Citrix environment, previously shared with the former parent company, to its own structure. The objective was not only to assure employees access to systems, such as desktop and application virtualization, but also to simplify the company's environment, which was now serviced by a smaller team. The project was carried out by Brasoftware, one of the main technology providers in the country and a Citrix Platinum partner.
“The project was considered critical because Citrix is the way to access our entire productive application environment; in other words, it is what allows the company to invoice, produce and deliver the production of the 8 plants that we have throughout the country. Another concern was with some of our teams, who with the pandemic started to work from home, with access to their tools via VPN”, says Juliano Moschen, manager of IT Infrastructure and Security at Atvos.
To ensure the success of the migration of more than 200 virtualized applications and minimize any impact on the company's results, Brasoftware dedicated 4 months to planning the project, which needed to take place in the Atvos off-season. “That was one of the biggest challenges. We worked with the client together with the business area, as it was necessary to reschedule everything that was planned for this period. We built the Citrix environment from scratch, we needed to assess the risks present in each scenario and replan activities at various times”, says Vitor Vogel, services executive at Brasoftware.
For Atvos, it is essential that employees and partners work productively and safely. That's why Citrix solutions, which the company has been using since 2010, are essential. “Every day we receive a large number of trucks at our plants. If we delay a bill release or a truck is unable to carry out the mandatory weighing, for example, it is a loss of revenue. For us, slow access and poor performance when opening applications means unproductiveness. The relationship is direct”, highlights Juliano.
Brasoftware is a partner of the most renowned global IT manufacturers and, in the case of Citrix, is a Platinum solution provider, which means that it has experts with proven experience for the delivery of services and technical implementation of the Citrix portfolio at the highest level. “We are a team of professionals, who will design and deliver the project following the manufacturer's best practices. Allied to this, we serve a series of practical scenarios for clients of the most different sizes and complexity – which makes our teams have expertise in very heterogeneous environments”, says Antonio Lolegi, Citrix specialist.
The security of having a qualified team, capable of solving problems in a timely manner, was a differential. “The work we did together was excellent. The dialogue was constant, clear and frank. We built an environment of partnership, something essential for us to succeed in the face of so many challenges. Atvos chose Brasoftware precisely because of its technical capacity and that's what made the migration complete and within the established deadlines. The complexity was great, but when the project is well structured, with capable professionals, it seems simple”, concludes Juliano.
