B3, the Brazilian stock exchange, will implement a self-service platform focused on software development. The intention is to increase response speed for customers, optimize processes and launch products faster.
The platform will function as a portal in which the teams will be able to use the tools, codes and templates already tested and available, which work as parts for the development of new solutions.
B3 has teams of developers working on different projects, but who depend on a single IT area to support the development of solutions. With the new model, the intention is to avoid the feeling of bottlenecks in periods of high demand.
“The possibility of relying on numerous services directly will transform the company's software engineering process, bringing much more efficiency and reduction in product development time. The change will contribute to the adoption of the open source mentality, that is, a participatory philosophy, in which our teams will work in an even more collaborative way”, explains Marcos Albino Rodrigues, Superintendent of IT Architecture, Governance and Innovation (CTO) at B3 .
The novelty will serve mainly product development and software engineering teams, as well as professionals from other areas who are also involved in deliveries.
For the project, B3 hired Thoughtworks, a global technology consultancy. The company, which integrates strategy, design and software engineering, specializes in Backstage, an open source platform for building developer portals, which will serve as the basis for the development of a customized portal for B3's reality.
“The current scenario demands that development teams have an environment in which they can use their time efficiently, with accelerated deliveries and reduced costs. In order to increase efficiency in engineering, we will use the Backstage tool to create a personalized platform that improves the experience and simplifies the day-to-day of product development at B3”, points out Gregório Melo, Director of Business Modernization, Platforms and Cloud at Thoughtworks Brasil .
The objective, according to the executive, is for work to happen more easily and with greater operational efficiency, addressing one of the biggest pains in the market today: the need to improve results, while reducing costs and accelerating time to market. .
Among the benefits sought with the implementation of the self-service platform are greater autonomy for the development teams, increased productivity, acceleration in deliveries and in meeting customer demands, in addition to creating a healthier and more efficient engineering organization, improving customer satisfaction. development and talent retention.
“This is another one of the projects that are part of B3's digital transformation strategy. We seek to continuously update our systems to meet the demands of a very dynamic market. We also work to foster an environment of constant innovation, which extracts the best from technology in order to make business viable”, says Rodrigo Nardoni, Vice President of Technology and Cybersecurity at B3.
