After training more than 20,000 people in introducing cloud fundamentals in 2023, a new edition of the program now offers qualifications for cloud and generative AI solution architects
Nexa and Amazon Web Services (AWS) will fund more than 40,000 technology scholarships as part of the 2024 edition of the program Cloud Talent, launched last year to train 100 thousand people by 2025 in Brazil and Peru – 80% of them in Brazil. The 2024 edition is aimed at two very different profiles: professionals from all sectors interested in using Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and students or Information Technology (IT) workers who want to grow their career.
Thinking about professionals from all areas, including freelancers, such as lawyers and micro-entrepreneurs, the program will be taught by edtech DIO in four virtual generative artificial intelligence bootcamps. Bootcamps are intensive 10-hour training sessions, with theoretical introduction and practical content, including live sessions with experts on the main use cases of the tools. The first bootcamp, Fundamentals of Generative AI and Claude 3, will immerse themselves in Claude 3, a model that has demonstrated superior performance to other Generative AI tools on the market. The training will begin in April 29 and registrations can be made on this link.
To keep up with the speed of innovation and emerging demands in the technology sector, the themes of the bootcamps will be defined based on data from AWS AI and Machine Learning experts on the most sought after Generative AI applications by the provider's client companies. cloud. The other bootcamps will be launched in June, August and October, and their themes will be announced soon.
In the “Jobs of Tomorrow” study, which assesses the impact of generative artificial intelligence models on the economy, the World Economic Forum estimates that 62% of professional tasks can be optimized through the use of this technology. The study points out that, instead of replacing jobs, the expansion of the use of Generative AI models could usher in an era of transformation in the methods of carrying out tasks. At the same time, the “Accelerating AI Skills” survey, carried out by AWS and Access Partnership, shows that Brazilian employers are willing to pay at least 46% more to hire talent with AI skills.
“The World Economic Forum highlights the need for public authorities and the private sector to prepare the workforce for the jobs of tomorrow”, says Andréa Leal, AWS Mass Training Manager in Latin America. “This is exactly what AWS is doing in this program developed in partnership with Nexa; providing free training to anyone interested in learning how to use tools that will automate repetitive tasks and expand problem-solving capacity. These are skills valued in professionals from all areas, not just technology.”
Another new feature of the program in 2024 is the track Cloud Architect@s, developed by Proz Educação to train architects of AWS cloud solutions, with a focus on increasing diversity in the industry, as it prioritizes women, people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. The collaboration between AWS and Nexa will finance 200 full scholarships for students and technology professionals who want to advance their careers by delving deeper into this area, in addition to covering 50% of the cost of the certification exam AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, one of the most sought after credentials in the technology market. This training lasts three months with a synchronous methodology, and virtual classes twice a week, or on Saturdays starting on the day 20 of May. Registration can be done at this link.
After completing the course, graduates will be connected to companies in the Nexa and AWS ecosystem that have open positions with these profiles, helping to insert qualified professionals into the cloud computing market, which grew by 25% in 2023, according to Brasscom, and which tends to expand even further with the growth in adoption of Generative AI tools.
According to Gustavo Cicillini, vice-president of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Nexa, “fostering professional training is part of the social legacy that Nexa seeks to build on a daily basis. This is a unique opportunity for young people and adults in the communities in which we are present to have access to knowledge about applications of Generative Artificial Intelligence and envision a career in the technology area. It is another social initiative that reinforces our position as a mining company that changes with the world”, he says.
