Grupo RAR goes beyond ERP and invests in people management (HCM) and BI to provide intelligence to processes, strengthening the use of real-time data for decision making
Today national production - discounting what is imported - represents 90% of apples consumed in the country. The fruit has as main destination the fresh consumption, but it can also be used for industry that produces juices, vinegars, in addition to the use of its bagasse to manufacture alcoholic beverages, fibers to enrich foods and other products.
The apple harvest takes place from late January to May, an intense period for companies like Grupo RAR, which today is the third largest apple producer in Brazil with one of its companies, RASIP. The company has a strong presence in agribusiness because it also operates in the production of grains (soybeans, corn, wheat), in addition to its activities in the dairy market, with cheeses, highlighting Gran Formaggio cheese, the first money-type cheese produced in Brazil and derivatives.
“RASIP in 2020 sold 60 thousand tons of apples, which meant an increase of 26% vs 2019”, says Raquel Pandolfo, Administrative and Financial Manager at RAR.
With 42 years of experience, RASIP manages not only the entire operation process - planting, harvesting and distribution - but also needs to deal with agility with the demands of people management, commercial movement and the entire economic context that can affect the company's performance in the market.
“Much is said about technology in agribusiness, and today this is no longer a vision of the future, but a reality, which materializes in the face of high levels of productivity, as well as the positivity of the economy in this segment. And it is in this line that management software can make a significant contribution, from planning to distribution of production, giving visibility and allowing the management of profitability, whether by mitigating costs with personnel, logistics or even inputs or by boosting revenues. Finally, in view of the adoption of technologies, we have the opportunity to manage results ”says Graciele Lima, Head of Product for agribusiness at Senior Sistemas.
Crop & HCM People Management
In a normal routine, the company manages 700 fixed employees, during the harvest season it hires approximately 3000 temporary workers. This implies managing a massive demand for accountability regarding labor obligations, payroll, temporary hires, etc.
“We have used the management software offered by Senior and its partners since 2009. The solutions allow us flexibility and development of our own reports and analyzes, all customized according to our needs. Besides, of course, the whole routine of accounts payable and receivable, tax entries and activities related to the management of the entire business ”, highlights Raquel Pandolfo.
“According to data from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), in 2050 the world population will reach more than 9 billion people, so it is necessary to increase food production in 70%. And one of the challenges is the adoption of technologies and innovations, so those who invest in these pillars are already ahead. Because having data and information on a real-time management platform, allows for timely and assertive decision-making, and not only after a harvest has been carried out, thus generating better results ”, highlights the Senior Sistemas executive.
Softwares & BI: What are the benefits?
For the management of the entire business, RAR today has the support of ERP for all administrative routines, HCM to meet employee management and obligations related to eSocial, CRM as support to RAR's SAC and BI Corporate Performance solutions , which today is one of the most strategic technologies for the company in terms of monitoring indicators and making decisions.
“In 2013, we implemented our budget module in a vision of BI and every company makes use of the tool for budget management. In 2016, we intensified the use of BI in commercial analysis, which provided us with greater assertiveness and timeliness in the decision-making process, as well as in the construction of commercial and market strategies ”,
The technology applied in the companies of the RAR Group contributes so that the company's business could today be more agile and competitive, with a day-to-day decision based on data, that is, consolidated and reliable information that is updated in real time. "For example, the ERP uses more routinely accounts payable and receivable, tax entries have always supported us well in this part", explains the Administrative and Financial Manager RAR | Rasip, Raquel Manfredi Pandolfo.
In the case of BI, the tool complements the vision of the business, since the company has the practice of accessing its information early in the morning, where the team uses applications, monitoring on television, etc.
“It is very strategic, especially in terms of monitoring sales and sales activities. We monitor the average price of indicators, customer performance, etc. ”, highlights Raquel Pandolfo.
According to the executive of RAR, the company today has more than 4 thousand customers, among them brands well known by consumers: Carrefour, Pão de Açúcar, Outback, among others.
“The software offers us a high rate of native integration, mitigating the risk of errors, data loss and rework. Additionally, we work on the basis of restraining screen customizations and / or in key system processes and, even so, Senior's solutions remain adherent to meeting our demands. We have Senior as a technological partner and that supports us with each wave of growth of the company ”, concludes the Administrative and Financial Manager RAR | Rasip. Raquel Manfredi Pandolfo.
