Fully automated vehicle assembly should become a reality by 2030.<\/em><\/p>\n

By 2029, only 5% of automakers will maintain strong growth in investments in\u00a0Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/a><\/u>, a drop from the current 95%, predicts the\u00a0Gartner, Inc.<\/b>., a business insights and technology company.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c"The automotive sector is going through a period of euphoria regarding AI, where many companies want to achieve disruptive value even before building solid foundations in Artificial Intelligence," he says.\u00a0Pedro Pacheco<\/a><\/u>, Vice President Analyst at Gartner. \u201cThis euphoria will eventually turn into disappointment, as these organizations will not be able to achieve the ambitious goals they have set for AI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gartner predicts that only a few automotive companies will retain their current status.\u00a0AI initiatives<\/a><\/u>\u00a0Ambitious goals will emerge over the next five years. Organizations with solid software foundations, technologically savvy leadership, and a consistent long-term focus on Artificial Intelligence will stand out from the rest, creating a competitive AI niche.<\/p>\n

\u201cSoftware and data are the pillars of Artificial Intelligence,\u201d says Pacheco. \u201cCompanies with advanced maturity in these areas have a natural advantage. Furthermore, automotive companies led by executives with strong technological expertise are more likely to\u2026\u201d\u00a0make AI your main focus<\/a><\/u>, Instead of sticking to the traditional priorities of a company in the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fully automated vehicle assembly planned for 2030.<\/b><\/p>\n

The automotive industry is also moving toward radical operational efficiency. As automakers rapidly integrate advanced robotics into their assembly lines, Gartner predicts that by 2030, at least one automaker will achieve fully automated vehicle assembly, marking a historic shift in the automotive sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe race to full automation is accelerating, with almost half of the world\u2019s leading automakers (12 out of 25) already testing advanced robotics in their factories,\u201d he says.\u00a0Marco Sandrone<\/a><\/u>, Vice President Analyst at Gartner. \u201cAutomated vehicle assembly helps automakers reduce labor costs, improve quality, and shorten production cycle times. For consumers, this means better vehicles at potentially lower prices.\u201d<\/p>\n

While this may reduce the direct need for human labor in vehicle assembly, new roles in AI supervision, robotics maintenance, and software development could offset the losses if retraining programs are prioritized.<\/p>\n
