Leaving behind\u00a0<em>hype<\/em>\u00a0And by building concrete results for businesses, AI was the main protagonist of the year, giving rise to new disciplines such as the inference of large and small data models, the advent of AI agents for process automation and, above all, revealing the urgency for companies to look at data sovereignty. Now, turning our attention to the future, what can we expect from 2026?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ql-align-justify\">Red Hat executives addressed this question and shared their perspectives for the coming year, highlighting the mindset shifts and new priorities that should guide IT leaders starting in January. Check out their vision:<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ql-align-justify\">According to Ashesh Badani, senior vice president and chief product officer at Red Hat, the year will require meticulous planning from C-level executives, who must reconcile the financial and operational demands of companies with new trends in the technology market. \u201cTechnology leaders remain divided among numerous priorities, something that should become even more evident in 2026. On one hand, they need to encourage the use of AI to achieve a faster return on investment (ROI), while maintaining appropriate security and privacy measures. They must also modernize systems and address technical debt, as well as advance in hybrid environments, at a time when interest in sovereign IT is growing. Simultaneously, they need to ensure that their teams have sufficient skills and agility not only to keep up, but to thrive in this scenario,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ql-align-justify\">According to the executive, Red Hat will be present to assist leaders in this new technological shift through a platform.\u00a0<em>all-in-one<\/em>, Ideal for planning AI initiatives, regardless of the stage of the AI journey the organization is in. \u201cWith the accelerated pace of AI evolution, we expect the value of an open platform, capable of scaling and meeting dynamic, and often conflicting, priorities, to be even more recognized in 2026. Red Hat seeks to deliver this platform, built on a foundation of open-source innovation with Linux and Kubernetes for cloud-native and legacy applications. We want to take this trusted foundation to an agent-driven future, where AI inference is optimized for any model, any accelerator, and any cloud,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ql-align-justify\">According to Mike Ferris, senior vice president, chief operating officer, and chief strategy officer, organizations today face an operational challenge: assimilating new market trends, such as virtualization, and definitively adopting artificial intelligence. \u201cWe are reaching a tipping point where IT modernization has ceased to be merely an efficiency goal and has become a matter of survival. Companies are caught between opposing forces: the volatility in the virtualization market and the imperative need to adopt AI. These two pressures are exposing technical debt like never before, turning it from an operational inconvenience into an insurmountable obstacle capable of hindering innovation. All this while business demands continue to accelerate,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_ql-align-justify\">In his view, Ferris believes that by 2026, technology adoption will play a more profound role than simply modernizing architectures and implementing new tools; it will be a fundamental methodology for the perpetual transformation of companies. \u201dTo succeed, companies will need technology that builds a bridge, connecting the reliable stability of existing systems to flexible and intelligent systems\u2014such as AI agents, for example\u2014where we know innovation will happen in the future. Platforms that leverage existing investments in people and processes, while adapting to future capabilities, will drive the industry. Delaying this work has always been risky, but in 2026 the risks are even greater.
