\n\tDeveloped to receive anonymous reports about corporate software piracy, the Application \u201cDenounce Piracy\u201d has just been launched by ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) and BSA \u2013 The Software Alliance. \u201cThe App was created to facilitate the registration of these complaints that already take place through the website www.denunciepirataria.org.br, which in 2013 registered 31,000 complaints involving the sale, acquisition or use of illegal programs\u201d, says Jorge Sukarie, president of ABES.
\n\t 
\n\tIn Brazil, the current software piracy rate is considered alarming. For every 10 programs purchased or downloaded over the internet in the country, more than 5 are obtained illegally.
\n\t 
\n\tAccording to a BSA study, it is estimated that if the piracy rate decreases 10 percentage points (from the current 53% to 43%), R$ 6.4 billion would be added to the local economy, 13 thousand new jobs would be created and industry revenue would increase. site at more than R$ 4.8 billion.
\n\t 
\n\tToday, the portal has 11 manufacturers registered in the program: Adobe, Audaces, Autodesk, Dassault, Microsoft, PLM, Progress, PTC, Siemens, Sybase, Symantec and Tekla. Complaints are evaluated and forwarded to manufacturers for verification in accordance with their internal process.

\n\t\u201cDisrespect for intellectual property undermines economic growth and the development of jobs and new technologies. Furthermore, companies that use illegal software act with an unfair advantage over the competition. We hope that, with the help of the app, the number of complaints against software piracy will triple in the coming months, due to the mobility and simplicity of the App\u201d, comments Jorge Sukarie.
