According to the research, 86% of companies in the country already use cloud computing solutions in their daily operations. However, despite widespread adoption, organizations still face challenges in using the cloud&#039;s potential strategically and efficiently, and end up repeating a recurring mistake: digital waste, which results in poorly managed environments, underutilized resources, and a lack of alignment between technology and business objectives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This type of waste occurs when a company, for various reasons, loses time, money, and data through the inappropriate use of technology. In the case of cloud services, the problem manifests itself, above all, when an organization fails to take full advantage of the cloud space it has contracted, creating a cost associated with idle space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This behavior can be compared, on an individual scale, to buying a cell phone. It&#039;s common for consumers to opt for a model with greater storage capacity, even though, over time, they never utilize all the available potential. In a corporate context, something similar occurs, with a significant difference, since companies pay recurring subscriptions, often in dollars, to maintain idle cloud resources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">In many cases, a significant portion of this environment remains underutilized, generating unnecessary costs and compromising the financial and operational efficiency of organizations. According to the\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1252987\/cloud-spend-wasted-vs-efficient-spend\/?srsltid=AfmBOoomRXPW0L-NnIE8HpfebwTo4mDtkJMuXIp_mBUncHSvnkR49AB9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1252987\/cloud-spend-wasted-vs-efficient-spend\/?srsltid=AfmBOoomRXPW0L-NnIE8HpfebwTo4mDtkJMuXIp_mBUncHSvnkR49AB9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">Statista research<\/a>, 30% of companies&#039; investments in cloud services end up being wasted. The number is especially high when considering that the recognized market trend is for investment in clouds to continue growing in the coming years. This scenario reinforces the importance of a\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/4451KyO\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/4451KyO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">strategic and optimized management<\/a>\u00a0of cloud resources, capable of balancing innovation, efficiency and cost control.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Problems on both ends.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">In addition to representing financial losses for companies, digital waste is also a concern for cloud service providers. When customers contract cloud resources and do not use them fully, these companies are forced to maintain data center structures to support this idle space. If this behavior is repeated on a large scale, it can increase infrastructure expansion costs, directly impacting the operational efficiency and strategic planning of providers and, indirectly, the entire cloud ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Another source of concern lies in the relationship with the client itself, since underutilization can be mistaken for low efficiency of the contracted cloud service. This disappointment can result in reluctance to renew the service, as well as limiting the willingness to acquire new technologies and tools that could complement the cloud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Sustainable cloud<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Given the growing awareness of digital waste, consulting services are now being included in many cloud contracts. This means that if a company suspects it is underutilizing the cloud, it can contact the provider and request an analysis at no additional cost. With practical recommendations, the consulting service helps companies align their cloud usage with ESG best practices, increasing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Continuous monitoring ensures that resources are used intelligently, avoiding idle time and promoting responsible innovation. In this way, companies can transform cloud management into a sustainable competitive advantage. By conducting a detailed diagnosis of cloud usage, organizations gain a renewed vision of how to expand the use of this type of solution, how to use this idle space to increase day-to-day efficiency, and discover new technology ideas they wish to acquire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Since the market now understands the phenomenon of digital waste, seeking personalized diagnoses and insights has become as necessary as adopting or modernizing technology.
