\n\tCompany Announces "Internet for the Future" Strategy and Industry's Most Ambitious Processor Architecture<\/p>\n

\tCisco recently presented details of its technology strategy to build a new Internet \u2013 designed to drive digital innovation by overcoming the performance, economics and energy consumption limitations of today's infrastructure. With a multi-year focus, defining the Internet for decades to come, Cisco's strategy is already offering technological advances to pave the way for developers to create applications and services they have only begun to imagine.<\/p>\n

\tAs part of this strategy, Cisco introduced Cisco Silicon OneTM, a new-of-its-kind network processor architecture for the industry; the new Cisco 8000 series, made up of powerful routers that meet the operators' highest requirements, built on the new processor; and new purchase options that allow customers to consume the company's technology through flexible business models.<\/p>\n

\tBuilding the Internet Pillars for the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tIn the next decade, digital experiences will be created with advanced technologies \u2013 virtual reality and augmented reality, 16K streaming, Artificial Intelligence, 5G, 10G, quantum computing, adaptive and predictive cybersecurity, intelligent IoT, and others not yet invented. These future generations of applications will drive complexity beyond the capabilities that current Internet infrastructure can support.<\/p>\n

\tIn this context, Cisco executives inform that the company's strategy will be based on the development and investments in three key technology areas: processor, optics and software.<\/p>\n
