Company reinforces its commitment to social and educational transformation through technology and innovation<\/em><\/p>\n

On International Education Day, celebrated on January 24, Oracle reinforced its commitment to social and educational transformation, highlighting the results of its initiatives that have already benefited more than 2 million people worldwide. Through the Oracle for Education program, the company invests daily in actions that integrate innovation and technology into education. The initiatives offer learning opportunities in technology for different audiences, with a focus on training future talents and connecting them with the job market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programs that are part of this movement that is transforming lives in Latin America are Oracle Next Education (ONE), Oracle Academy, Oracle For Devs, Oracle University, Oracle Social Impact, Oracle Partner Enablement and Generation Oracle.<\/p>\n

Among the results of these initiatives is ONE (Oracle Next Education), a free online education and employability program that trains people in technology in Latin America and connects them with the job market through partner companies. Designed to meet the demand for programmers and specialists in the region, ONE aims to train 40,000 specialists in technology and artificial intelligence by 2025, reaffirming its commitment to employability and social inclusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cONE was developed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals, connecting emerging talent with the needs of the job market. The program offers a structured approach that combines theoretical learning with practical experience, making education accessible to everyone, regardless of location or socioeconomic background,\u201d says Gabriel Vallejo, Senior Vice President of Growth and co-founder of the project. \u201cOur commitment is to empower participants, preparing them not only for today\u2019s demands, but also for the challenges of the future,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, more than 511,000 students have enrolled in the program in 14 countries in Latin America; of these, more than 90,000 have graduated and more than 12,000 have found employment, generating an estimated annual economic impact of US$1,400,000 in salaries in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore I started the ONE program, I worked in administrative roles. This program gave me a solid foundation to advance my career, and today I am a developer at an ISP, creating applications for TV and Android,\u201d says Gabriel Santos, an Argentine ONE student. Brazilian Julia Santos highlights that she saw in ONE \u201ca portfolio and a safe place to learn. I never imagined that a girl from the interior of Bahia could work in a multinational company,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

The registration period for the next group will be between May and June 2025, with classes starting in July, and it is possible to pre-register and follow the news on\u00a0program website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another educational pillar of the company is Oracle Academy, a philanthropic initiative with over 25 years of history that offers free educational resources (curricular and technological) to educational institutions. The program has 16,000 active teachers and currently has over 60 partnership agreements signed with governments in Latin America and the Caribbean, directly impacting over 3.5 million elementary, high school, technical and higher education students throughout the region. \u201cThe benefits of Oracle Academy are countless. One of the most important is access to cutting-edge technologies, which allows our students to be aligned with market demands,\u201d says Alexandre Barcelos, a teacher in S\u00e3o Paulo and member of Oracle Academy.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the program held its first in-person Oracle Academy Summit. The event brought together more than 600 educators in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, and Guadalajara, Mexico. Educators had the opportunity to connect in person with executives and experts from Oracle, partners, and customers. \u201cWe need to join this effort to include young people and women, so that we can ensure that Brazil has more people trained to work in the Information and Communication Technology market,\u201d says Juana Nunes, Director of Popularization of Science, Technology, and Scientific Education at the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation.<\/p>\n

Oracle University<\/b><\/p>\n

Oracle University stands out for training professionals in advanced technologies, through a portfolio of training and certifications to train citizens with skills and experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Cloud and Oracle Industry Applications. The program has already generated more than 3 million hours of content watched by students and certified more than 1 million professionals globally, including 160 thousand in Latin America. This area of activity has scaled its impact through\u00a0Skill Development Initiative<\/em>, which enters into technical cooperation agreements with governments and universities to disseminate free technology training opportunities and increase the chances of professional integration and growth for citizens from all over Latin America.<\/p>\n

GenO, the company's internship program, seeks to develop future leaders by providing opportunities for all talents. The selection process has stages that aim to neutralize biases such as origin, university and previous experience of the candidates. The focus of the program is on the talent and skills that these people bring to the table. With more than 400 participants, in 8 Latin American countries, of which 65% are women, the program combines professional development and mentoring. \u201cI fell in love with Oracle in 2019, when I participated in a technology competition. Now, I contribute to engaging more girls in this exciting universe\u201d, highlights Livia Rodrigues Fernandes, GenO participant at Oracle Brazil.<\/p>\n

The positive impact, however, is not limited to technological solutions and training, but also includes Oracle's Social Impact area and the direct involvement of employees in communities, with more than 17 thousand active volunteers, who donated 138 thousand hours to educational and social projects around the globe last year.<\/p>\n

Oracle's Social Impact area is primarily committed to advancing education, protecting the environment, strengthening communities, and promoting health. Activities focused on education in Latin America include Discover Data with Oracle Education Foundation, mock interviews with young people, professional mentoring, data bootcamps, programming classes, among others. Some of the partner institutions are Gerando Falc\u00f5es, Instituto Proa, Junior Achievement, and Technovation.<\/p>\n

In total, 2 million people were directly and indirectly impacted by Oracle For Education initiatives, reinforcing the company's purpose of transforming the world by empowering people through technology. \u201cEducation is an essential pillar for building a more inclusive and sustainable future,\u201d says Vallejo. \u201cHere at Oracle, we believe in the power of technology to empower individuals, transform realities and, why not, inspire other companies to do the same,\u201d he concludes.<\/p>\n
