{"id":8085,"date":"2019-06-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/?p=8085"},"modified":"2019-06-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-06-28T00:00:00","slug":"decreto-que-institui-o-plano-nacional-de-internet-das-coisas-e-publicado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/en\/decreto-que-institui-o-plano-nacional-de-internet-das-coisas-e-publicado\/","title":{"rendered":"Decree establishing the National Plan for the Internet of Things is published"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/anterior\/Imagens\/IOTDestaque.jpg\" style=\"width: 320px; height: 229px;\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<br \/>\n\tDocument provides more clarity and legal certainty for the Internet of Things and establishes the IoT Chamber as a collegiate body that will supervise the implementation of the Plan&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tDecree No. 9,854, of June 25, 2019, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Wednesday (26), establishing the National Plan for the Internet of Things (IoT) and providing for the IoT Chamber, collegiate body that will supervise the actions within the scope of the Plan. The National IoT Plan is an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), Ministry of Economy and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) together with civil society \u2013 companies, academia, development and other bodies \u2013 to ensure that Brazil benefits from IoT technology.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tOne of the goals of the 200 days of government, the publication of the decree is one of the pillars of the Brazilian Strategy for Digital Transformation (E-Digital), established by Decree 9,319, of March 21, 2018, and presents important mechanisms for strengthening the ecosystem of national innovation and for the development of IoT projects. Among other determinations, the document provides more clarity and the necessary legal certainty so that, for the benefit of society, the productive sector can, for example, implement solutions with greater efficiency and predictability.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tFor the secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at MCTIC, Paulo Alvim, the publication will lead to new business opportunities, in addition to boosting startups. \u201cThe impacts will be felt in industry, agriculture, services and smart cities, leading to a new level in urban mobility, public safety, health and education,\u201d he explains. \u201cWith productivity and competitiveness gains and innovation induction, new opportunities will present themselves with gains for the country.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tAccording to the secretary, the government wants to act as a facilitator, placing society as a protagonist in this process. \u201cThis issue has been working for some time in a process of articulation within the federal government with the productive sector, which will support the digital transformation of Brazilian society and the insertion of the productive sector in the 4.0 economy\u201d, he says. According to the decree, the MCTIC, based on supply, demand and local development capacity criteria, will point out the priority areas for applications of IoT solutions, including, at least, the health, cities, industries and countryside.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tEach of the prioritized environments will have a governance chamber. The Chamber of Industry 4.0 was inaugurated in April 2019 and its working groups are already meeting with the aim of proposing a series of actions in favor of Brazilian industry. The Chamber of Agro 4.0 should be inaugurated in July and will be jointly coordinated by the MCTIC and the Ministry of Agriculture. The Chambers Sa\u00fade 4.0 and Cidades 4.0 will be the next to be implemented.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tIoT camera<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe new decree establishes the Chamber for the Management and Monitoring of the Development of Machine-to-Machine Communication Systems and the Internet of Things (IoT Camera) as an advisory body to monitor the implementation of the National Plan for the Internet of Things.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe IoT Chamber will be composed of the ministries of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications \u2013 which will preside over it, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Regional Development.
