Would you change jobs to reduce your commute time? A survey revealed that 78.1% of professionals have already considered or taken steps to do so. Commissioned by Serasa Experian, the first and largest Datatech in Brazil, to understand the priorities and preferences of Brazilian workers, the study indicated that 21.3% of respondents considered living closer to the company and 20.5% thought about changing jobs to reduce commute time. On the other hand, 34.5% of participants said they had never changed jobs or residences due to the time spent commuting. Check out the full survey data below:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a point that caught our attention: the willingness to change jobs or residences to reduce commuting time highlights the importance of companies considering location and accessibility when planning their operations and work policies. In addition, it highlights the relevance of the hybrid work model as a viable alternative, which can offer greater flexibility and contribute to reducing the need for daily commutes,\u201d says Serasa Experian\u2019s Human Resources Manager, Camila Souza. <\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
The survey also revealed that the younger the generations, the greater the willingness to change homes or jobs to reduce commuting time. Among Generation Z workers, 23.5% have already changed jobs for this purpose, compared to only 10.2% of Baby Boomers. See the data on the generations in the table below:<\/p>\n

\u201cWorkplace preferences of Brazilian professionals<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n The survey also investigated workers' preferences regarding the ideal place to work. The results showed that 43.3% of the participants prefer a job close to home and 25.8% places that are easily accessible by public transportation. In addition, 10.0% value places with infrastructure nearby, such as restaurants and schools. See below the complete data for this section:<\/p>\n Current travel time<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n When asked about the time it takes to get to work currently, 34.5% of the interviewees responded that it takes between 15 and 30 minutes. When analyzed by region, this time is longer for residents of the North and Central-West (39.2%). The general average of 1 to 2 hours was mentioned by 10.8% of the interviewees, but this number rises to 15.9% among workers in the Southeast. Professionals in various categories were included (CLT, PJ, Third Party and Liberal Professional).\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n The study covered a wide range of positions, from interns and assistants to directors and C-levels. In addition, the survey participants were professionals in private companies and the gender distribution in the sample was quite balanced, with 491 female TP3T and 511 male TP3T. The collection was carried out from 05\/22 to 06\/02 via the Online Respondent Panel. The margin of error is 31 TP3T.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n With over 4,600 employees in Brazil, Serasa Experian is recognized as an excellent place to work.
