Currently, 46% of all software sold in Brazil is pirated, according to the BSA<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn 2018, ABES removed a total of 86,061 ads, links and websites with content that gave access to files that violate the copyright and intellectual property of the entity&#039;s associates from the web.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&quot;Although technological evolution has helped to reduce software piracy, with the offer of computer programs in the cloud, the numbers of the Brazilian market are still worrying. According to BSA | The Software Alliance, 46% of all software sold in the Brazil are pirates &quot;, comments Francisco Camargo, president of ABES<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe balance of ABES monitoring points to a reduction of 8,72% compared to 2017, where a total of 87,716 advertisements, links and sites with illegal content were removed. &quot;This variation shows a decrease in the supply of illegal content available in relation to 2017, but still almost 5% higher than in 2016, where the total removals was 76,273&quot;, evaluates Francisco.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe entity accounted for 40,944 links removed for violating intellectual property rights. 43,288 ads promoting pirated products were removed from the air. In addition, the organization was responsible for taking down 77 websites that offered illegal software downloads.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nABES continuously monitors the internet and directly notifies the e-commerce portals and access providers directly, when it identifies content that violates the intellectual property of its members.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThis action aims to protect consumers, who may be exposed to viruses, malware and data hijacking. It also protects consumers who may be violating Brazilian intellectual property laws without knowing it.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nInternet monitoring is part of ABES &#039;initiative, &quot;An Ethical Company&quot;, which aims to promote healthy and ethical competition in the economy. The entity also has a portal for anonymous complaints against software piracy.
