This is the highest level recorded since 2014 and represents an increase compared to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2023-05-17-gartner-survey-finds-ceos-cite-ai-as-the-top-disruptive-technology-impacting-industries\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2023-05-17-gartner-survey-finds-ceos-cite-ai-as-the-top-disruptive-technology-impacting-industries&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718477430493000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0pw48PIYGYIeC49Gy4_oHU\">research carried out last year,<\/a>\u00a0who had indicated this topic as a priority for 49% of the interviewees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAlong with the focus on growth, the research shows a relatively weak position for cost management, suggesting that the majority of CEOs and senior executives believe that the most challenging economic times are behind us,\u201d it says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/analyst\/14043\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/analyst\/14043&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718477430493000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0F8J04QLcBY6Hi9y7vIdZA\">David Furlonger<\/a>, Vice President and Analyst at Gartner. According to him, \u201cwe are entering a phase of increasing the confidence of business leaders and relaunching business strategies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The search &#039;<em>2024 Gartner CEO and Senior Business Executive Survey&#039;<\/em>\u00a0reveals that CEOs are adopting a growth mindset in their environments. It was conducted from July to December 2023 with 416 CEOs and senior executives from North America, Europe, Asia\/Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and South Africa, from companies of different industries, revenues and sizes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Top 10 CEOs&#039; Top Strategic Business Priorities for 2024 and 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_75832\" style=\"width: 606px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75832\" class=\"wp-image-75832 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"596\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-1.png 596w, https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-1-480x282.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 596px, 100vw\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-75832\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Gartner (May 2024)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI) is captivating CEOs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked about digital transformation, 34% of CEOs identified Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the main theme of the next business transformation after digital, followed by operational efficiency with 9%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cArtificial Intelligence is replacing digital as the buzzword most mentioned by CEOs, largely due to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI),\u201d says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/experts\/don-scheibenreif\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/experts\/don-scheibenreif&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718477430493000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1vQ9Dq-kJVSA6FzLVOQDbq\">Don Scheibenreif,<\/a>\u00a0Vice President and Analyst at Gartner. \u201cThe majority of CEOs interviewed by Gartner believe that the advances in Artificial Intelligence of 2023 have justified the\u00a0<em>hype<\/em>\u00a0of the technology sector. Now, they are trusting CIOs (<em>Chief Information Officers<\/em>), CTOs (<em>Chief Technology Officers<\/em>) and CDOs (<em>Chief Digital Officers<\/em>) to unlock the value of GenAI, showing that this is a team initiative when approaching these projects, and not just an experience that goes from leaders to subordinates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>CEOs must address Artificial Intelligence, including GenAI:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CEOs are not deterred by negative outlooks towards Artificial Intelligence, as 87% agree that the benefits of AI to their business outweigh the risks. Other 90% CEOs agreed that the idea that Artificial Intelligence is an existential threat to humanity is exaggeration and unfounded alarm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, CEOs are not approaching Artificial Intelligence with an entirely positive point of view. Research shows that 56% said misinformation,\u00a0<em>Fake News and Deep Fakes<\/em>\u00a0will create operational problems. 29% see tight electricity supply and 53% see general supply chain issues as obstacles, largely due to GenAI and the demand the technology itself creates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCEOs should tolerate low-cost GenAI projects,\u201d says Scheibenreif. \u201cBut they should avoid the temptation to try to control the use of GenAI centrally. The excitement and energy will be almost impossible to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCEOs must leave the cycle of\u00a0<em>hype<\/em>\u00a0work in your favor. The trough of disillusionment at GenAI will arrive soon \u2013 likely before the end of 2024.
