This amount is lower than the previous quarter&#039;s forecast that indicated growth of 8%. Although Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2023-08-16-gartner-places-generative-ai-on-the-peak-of-inflated-expectations-on-the-2023-hype-cycle-for-emerging-technologies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2023-08-16-gartner-places-generative-ai-on-the-peak-of-inflated-expectations-on-the-2023-hype-cycle-for-emerging-technologies&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1710004644620000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2lbqcXuXPinTVbIhojp0A9\"> hype<\/a> notable in 2023, it will not significantly change IT spending growth in the near term.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-72968 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/John-David.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/John-David.jpg 232w, https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/John-David-12x12.jpg 12w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>\u201cWhile GenAI will change everything, this technology will not have a significant impact on IT spending, similar to IoT, Blockchain and other big trends we have experienced,\u201d says John-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/experts\/john-lovelock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/experts\/john-lovelock&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1710004644620000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0Ok92FytG00_SNs46kc9Zx\">David Lovelock<\/a>, Vice President and Analyst at Gartner. \u201c2024 will be the year that companies really invest to plan for the use of GenAI, but IT spending will be driven by more traditional forces such as profitability, labor and dragged by an ongoing wave of resistance to change.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><b>IT services become the largest expense segment in 2024: <\/b>IT services will continue to grow in 2024, becoming, for the first time, the largest segment of information technology spending. Gartner predicts that spending on IT services is expected to grow by 8.7% in 2024, reaching $1.5 trillion. This is largely due to the fact that companies invest in organizational efficiency and optimization projects. Analysts estimate that these investments will be crucial during the period of economic uncertainty.\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cAdoption rates among consumers for telecommunications devices and services have stagnated for more than a decade. Consumer spending levels are primarily driven by price changes and replacement cycles, leaving room only for incremental growth. As a result, being overtaken by software and services was inevitable,\u201d said Lovelock. \u201cCompanies continue to find more uses for technology. IT left the <i>back office,<\/i> passed to the <i>front office<\/i> and now it is generating revenue. This is largely due to CIOs&#039; resistance to change.
