SAS, a leader in AI and analytics, offered, for the first time, the \u201cEmpowering the Future\u201d training program. The training aims to enable university students who are interning at SAS client companies to use statistics concepts and\u00a0analytics\u00a0<\/em>in the development of data science, artificial intelligence and\u00a0big data<\/em>\u00a0applied to market solutions.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n \u201cThe majority of students began training without any knowledge of using SAS solutions, including SAS Viya. During the program, it was possible to observe the evolution, with great interest and quick assimilation of the content. I believe that interns will be able to contribute more within their companies with the new skills in SAS tools\u201d, declared Prof. S\u00e9rgio da Costa C\u00f4rtes, who taught the classes.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n The free online course had 12 classes distributed throughout the months of October and November, always on Mondays and Wednesdays, lasting two hours each. The syllabus covered a wide variety of topics, including descriptive statistics, data analysis, SAS programming, and effective use of the SAS Viya platform's analysis and visualization tools.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n \u201cThe central objective is for our clients\u2019 interns to acquire solid skills and be prepared to contribute significantly to data analysis projects in their organizations\u201d, says SAS\u2019 Global Academic Program Manager, Deborah Vasconcellos. \u201c'Empowering the Future' is also a way to strengthen relationships with our clients and help them develop and retain their talents.\u201d\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n According to the World Economic Forum, among the 10 jobs with the greatest growth potential by 2027 are: business intelligence (BI) analyst and data scientist, in third and sixth place respectively. The SAS professional also explains that training university students is a way of preparing them for the future job market, going beyond the current organization in which they work.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n The training took place from October 9th to November 28th and had 45 participants from 13 SAS client companies.
