The result of a global alliance between companies, the Data Security Cockpit aims to act on the journey of governance, security, privacy and data protection so that organizations from all sectors are prepared<\/i><\/p>\n

In a context marked by the exponential increase in cyber attacks and critical incidents, Microsoft and PwC launch the Data Security Cockpit, a solution to support companies in their governance, security, privacy and data protection journeys. According to data from the Cybersecurity Guide, developed by\u00a0Digital Innovation Movement (MID)<\/a>\u00a0With the support of Microsoft, Brazilian companies suffered 103 billion attempted cyber attacks in 2022 \u2013 an increase of 16% compared to 2021.<\/p>\n

From January to June 2023, PwC's Cyber Threat Intelligence team observed an increase of 65% in the total number of victims disclosed on data leak sites, compared to this same period in 2022.<\/p>\n

In the Brazilian panorama, the LGPD establishes the parameters for the application of administrative sanctions by the ANPD (National Data Protection Agency) and the methodology for calculating the base value of privacy-related fines, which can reach up to R$ 50 million per infringement. It is imperative that Brazilian companies comply with this legislation and have tools that allow them to manage related risks and minimize impacts in the event of a cyber attack.<\/p>\n

This data emphasizes the importance of the topic being prioritized by companies, especially by the teams that make up the Board and C-Suite in companies.<\/p>\n

PwC | Data Security Cockpit was developed to address these challenges, providing transparency to data, ensuring it is managed responsibly and supporting the prioritization of actions. The solution offers four fundamental steps to protect data:<\/p>\n

  1. Discover Existence: Gain visibility across the entire data supply chain and identify personal and sensitive data assets to enable ongoing data governance operations.<\/li>\n
  2. Govern Usage: Develop and operationalize data strategy through formal data governance programs to establish trust in your data.<\/li>\n
  3. Protect Value: Enhance controls over personal and sensitive data in use, in transit, and at rest to reduce potential risks of data loss.<\/li>\n
  4. Minimize Risk: Establish tools, policies and procedures to remove unnecessary sensitive data and help mitigate risk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

With the growing threat of cyber attacks, the timing for this innovation could not be more crucial\u201d, adds Joana Mendes, partner at PwC Brasil.<\/p>\n

    The cybersecurity specialist at PwC Brasil adds that cloud threats increased by almost 40% in companies in Brazil and around the world in 2023. The data is from the research\u00a0Digital Trust Insights 2023<\/a>\u00a0which heard 3,500 IT and business executives from around the world, including Brazil. According to the study, 75% of Brazilian executives are expected to increase spending on cybersecurity in 2023. The percentage is above the world average, with 65%.<\/p>\n

    Also according to the Cybersecurity Guide, 83% of organizations state that they have suffered more than one episode of data breach. The data from the\u00a0fourth edition of Cyber Signals<\/a>, a study developed by Microsoft, highlights an increase in criminal activity around corporate email compromise (BEC).
