The solution, which has 100 cameras and AI technology, identifies people in risk areas and without adequate PPE on the company's premises; the goal is to prevent accidents at work and strengthen the company's ESG policy<\/i><\/p>\n

TIVIT, a Brazilian multinational that accelerates business through technology, together with Lambda3, a company of the group, specialized in digital products and data science,\u00a0developed an intelligent monitoring system to prevent accidents at work<\/a>\u00a0in the Brazilian plants of one of the largest agribusiness and food companies in the world.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The solution uses AI and advanced computer vision resources to monitor and interpret images from common CCTV cameras previously installed in the operational areas of the agro giant, which stores and moves tons of grain daily.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The system serves to mitigate the risk of accidents at work. One example is identifying the presence of employees in risk areas \u2013 such as near a pile of grain, still unstable, which can be fatal if it slides over a person. Another example is that of employees crossing vehicle traffic corridors outside the area suitable for people traffic. Or even detecting the presence of objects left on escape routes, which could impede the flow of people in case of need for rapid evacuation. The solution also identifies employees without the personal protective equipment (PPE) required to circulate in warehouses and factories. In all cases, when the system identifies the problem, it automatically triggers alerts so that the employee, for example, leaves the risk location or equips himself with the correct PPE.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The intelligent monitoring project aimed at work safety is the development of a previous solution, developed by TIVIT and Lambda3, to monitor grain conveyor belts. The original work had the objective of identifying anomalies in this type of equipment, triggering preventive maintenance, before a conveyor belt stops \u2013 and, consequently, causing a drop in productivity and losses to the company.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The solution, in this case, came from monitoring a treadmill that works in the company's largest plant in Brazil. Also using AI and computer vision, the system interprets the images captured from the treadmill in operation and alerts when it identifies changes in the operation of the equipment, triggering the preventive maintenance team. Previously, monitoring was done visually, by a technical employee.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The definition of the operating parameters of the treadmill was carried out by the TIVIT team together with specialists from the client company, and the artificial intelligence layer added allows the system to recognize the operating pattern of the treadmill and learn from new events, in order to refine triggering preventive maintenance alert.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u201cThis project focused on Industry 4.0, showed that the combination of computer vision and AI can be applied in many environments, including factories and warehouses, to solve problems of different natures and often even in previously installed security cameras, thus reducing the investment in new equipment with cutting-edge technology\u201d, says Daniel Calero, executive of innovation and digital transformation at TIVIT. \u201cThe work also showed that our client has a very mature ESG policy, because he saw that a solution developed to increase productivity, in the case of belt monitoring, could be applied to improve the safety of its employees\u201d.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
