From the 29th to the 31st of March, ABES will be present at the South Summit Brazil 2023<\/strong><\/a>, which takes place at Cais Mau\u00e1, in Porto Alegre (RS), a business platform that connects companies, startups and investors with the purpose of shaping an innovative and sustainable future. In a space of more than 22,000 m\u00b2, not only the most disruptive startups will gather, but also the main speakers from around the world to share their knowledge, prominent international investors eager to create connections and leading companies looking for business opportunities.<\/p>\n

The list of national and international speakers includes Rodolfo F\u00fccher, Chairman of the Board of ABES, who will participate in the panel on the Future of Telecommunications and IT Services and Industry 5.0, alongside Cesar Cavalheiro Leite, CEO and founder of Processor; Zaima Milazzo, President of Brain \u2013 Algar Telecom, and Heverton Anuncia\u00e7\u00e3o, from the Consumer University.<\/p>\n

Computer for Startup Competition Winners<\/strong><\/p>\n

Highlight of the event, the Startup Competition<\/a>, which has been taking place globally for ten years and which has already had more than 10 billion dollars invested, had 2,020 registrations this year (more than double the number registered in the previous edition). Of this total, 47 startups were selected (31 Brazilian and 16 foreign) that will present their projects in person at the South Summit Brazil 2023. Five startups will win, one in each category \u2013 Outstanding, Most Sustainable, Most Scalable, Most Innovative and Best Team \u2013 and each of them will receive a computer, which will be presented by ABES.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor to participate in an event that aims to connect startups, global investment funds and companies. We will present the ABES Startup Internship Program, which was designed to help emerging companies that use technology intensively and wish to operate or expand their activities in Brazil to overcome the complexities involved in the market. Program participants have access to all the experience we have accumulated over more than 36 years in the legal, regulatory, tax and marketing areas,\u201d says Rodolfo F\u00fccher.<\/p>\n

Mobilization for Inequality Reduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

The collection of electronic equipment will also be carried out during the event, a partnership between ABES, Reurbi and the Third Sector Observatory. Together with the organization of the event, collectors will be installed to collect electronic devices, such as notebooks, keyboards, racks and mice, etc.<\/p>\n

These devices may be refurbished and sold or loaned to institutions that promote socio-digital inclusion. Items that cannot be reused will be sent for recycling, and the resources are also donated to NGOs. The Mobilization to Reduce Inequality has a socio-environmental impact, as it reduces the generation of Greenhouse Gases, the release of toxic metals and generates career opportunities in the area of Technology for thousands of people trained by NGOs.<\/p>\n

About South Summit Brazil\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the aim of fostering connections between startups, companies and global investment funds to generate high-value business and connections, South Summit Brazil 2023 will take place from March 29th to 31st, at Cais Mau\u00e1, in Porto Alegre, bringing the main trends and innovations of the present and the future of the national and international industry. Event planning and operation are guided by the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, of which South Summit is a member. Created 10 years ago, the event is a leader in the global innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. In Brazil, it is a co-realization of the Government of the State of RS, and should take place in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul by 2027. The first edition was in May 2022 and brought together more than 500 national and international speakers. More than 20,000 people attended the event, totaling 40,000 contacts made and more than 2,500 meetings with around 8,500 companies, 3,300 startups from 76 countries and 450 investors.
