Still in a pilot project, the energy generated by this solution is capable of internally lighting an entire office building in S\u00e3o Carlos; since 2019, the company has managed to reduce its carbon footprint by 33%\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), one of the largest direct emission of greenhouse gases comes from fossil fuels used to generate electricity. At Serasa Experian, this consumption represents 95% of total emissions. Reinforcing its commitment to the environment and the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030, i.e., eliminating and reducing carbon emissions from operations controlled by Serasa Experian, also being able to offset these emissions through the purchase of carbon credits or recovery of forests in degraded areas, the company adopted a series of actions to reduce electricity consumption and build a more sustainable future.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

According to the Executive Sustainability Manager at Serasa Experian, Roger Cruz, \u201cin 2019 we made our carbon emissions inventory and since then we have been working on evolving our offices and data centers to become more efficient in terms of electricity consumption, increasing the number of hybrid cars in our fleet and now also investing in renewable energy generation. The objective is to invest more and more in initiatives to reduce our environmental impact on the planet\u201d.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

At the offices in S\u00e3o Carlos, where the company also operates, solar panels were installed which, since August, have been able to supply 100% of electric lighting in one of the operation's buildings. The second phase with the increase in the number of panels is already underway. In addition, there are several other actions that make the office one of the most sustainable buildings in the city:<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 High use of sunlight in buildings;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Presence of photocells on poles in external areas;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Installation of presence sensors;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Shutdown of air conditioning systems on colder days.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Air conditioning shutdown control performed by the maintenance team, avoiding unnecessary use;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Illumination by LED lamps, which are activated through an hourly schedule \u2013 which helps to optimize the consumption of electric energy;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Harnessing rainwater for use in gardens;<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 Preservation of an area of 9,000m\u00b2 around the office, contributing to the municipality's biodiversity<\/p>\n

Another differential is the adoption of the single-use plastics reduction program. \u201cWe did a detailed survey of all the items that are consumed in offices and that are classified as SUP, the acronym in English Single Use Plastic. Now, we are working to reduce and even eliminate the consumption of these items as much as possible\u201d, concludes Roger.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Experian is a leader on climate issues<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Experian was recognized\u00a0<\/strong>fur\u00a0financial times ranking<\/a>, in partnership with data provider Statista, as one of the leading companies in climate issues in Europe in 2022. The achievement was for the company having achieved the greatest reduction in the intensity of CO\u00b2 emissions on the continent.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

In February 2022, the company was also included in the\u00a0CDP ranking<\/a>\u00a0for leading supplier engagement on climate change. The company began to ask its partners for carbon emission findings associated with their work proposals. As a result, responses are considered when making decisions to ensure partnerships with new suppliers that also contribute to the journey towards carbon neutrality.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
