Compensation for environmental impacts, attested by the seal, is part of a wide range of actions to improve the ESG culture in the group's ecosystem<\/em><\/p>\n

CLM, a value-added Latin American distributor focused on information security, data protection, cloud and data center infrastructure, becomes the first technology distributor to receive the\u00a0Green Treasure Sustainability Seal<\/strong><\/a>, from BMV, granted to those who acquire UCS (Sustainability Credit Units), an environmental commodity that finances the conservation of biodiversity.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The seal attests to CLM's commitment to the environment. The investment in its ESG program aims to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, buying the necessary carbon credits to offset the emissions of the company and its employees.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The amount, paid annually, will remunerate the work of those who protect and guarantee the conservation of biodiversity. In the case of CLM, the investment will revert to the\u00a0Mata Viva Nucleus<\/strong><\/a>, in Xingu, generating the following benefits:<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Avoided emission of carbon stored in the form of wood<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Preservation of several species of Amazonian fauna<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Preservation of several species of flora in the Amazon<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Preservation of the region's hydrological flow<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The annual purchase corresponding to 39 tons of CO2<\/sub>and it is the tip of the iceberg (and the company works so that they do not melt) of a much larger ESG improvement project by the CLM Group.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

According to BMV's Business Partner, Carlos Sacco, the\u00a0Green Treasure Sustainability Seal<\/strong> attests, in numbers, the social results and environmental benefits generated by the reduction of emissions, protection of biodiversity and water cycling resulting from protected forests, certified in an effective and transparent way with easy verification. \u201cIn addition, the Seal is recognition of the good governance attitude when acquiring the Sustainability Credit Unit in equivalence to the impacts generated by the productive activity\u201d, explains Sacco.<\/p>\n

In its ESG strategy, CLM implemented a series of changes: it exchanged the entire air conditioning and server equipment park for more modern and efficient models. It also switched to a hybrid work system, to reduce the production of greenhouse gases in the movement of employees. \u201cMost come once or twice a week. The first, at the end of 2020, was the \u201cAn Ethical Company<\/strong><\/a>\u201d, multi-association initiative of the\u00a0ABES<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0ABIMDE<\/strong><\/a>???????? In March of this year, CLM obtained the transparency and ethics certification\u00a0CertiGov<\/strong>???????? \u201cOur goal is to reinforce, improve and consolidate the ESG, as well as the rules of ethics and integrity throughout our ecosystem\u201d, says Camargo.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

About the Green Treasure Sustainability Seal:<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Green Treasury Seal is an environmental certification, issued by the BMV Group, which can be acquired by governments and companies, attesting that they adopt practices to preserve biodiversity. To obtain certification, interested parties acquire Sustainability Credit Units (UCS), an environmental commodity registered with B3 and traded through Rural Product Bills \u2013 Green (CPR Verde). It is the first market instrument for this type of trading, approved by the Federal Government and regulated by the Central Bank.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Currently, more than one million hectares of native forest are preserved in seven BMV Group centers: Xingu, Teles Pires, Madeira, Arinos, Amap\u00e1, Roosevelt and Guariba, in the states of Amap\u00e1, Amazonas and Mato Grosso.<\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The methodology developed by the BMV Group has the scientific backing of Unesp, which verifies the assessment of the biodiversity of the forests that make up the projects. In addition, the entire protocol is endorsed by the main certifier in the world, specializing in inspection, testing and environmental certification, the Swiss SGS, ensuring that the operation is as sustainable as possible.
