Document includes the ESG pillars and brings the first inventory of Greenhouse Gases carried out by the organization\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n CPQD is launching its first Sustainability Report, which includes the pillars of environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibility. The document, referring to the year 2021, uses as a reference the international indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Principles of the Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations (UN).\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n \u201cCPQD's work has always been guided by concern for social and environmental impacts and issues related to corporate governance\u201d, observes Strategic Development manager Rodrigo Hodgson. \u201cThis report shows the organization's commitment to sustainability practices in all its business processes. In addition to providing an important diagnosis of where we are on our ESG journey, the document allows us to identify points of improvement, aiming to increase our positive impact on the planet\u201d, he adds.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n Data from the CPQD Sustainability Report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2021 (with some comparative data from 2020) and includes the organization's first Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory study. The survey presents the highlights in 2021 and then details the initiatives and actions carried out at CPQD within the ESG pillars.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n In the Governance pillar, for example, highlights the organization's innovative management model, which encourages collaboration, agility and resource optimization, as well as compliance, ethics, transparency, risk management and respect for the privacy of personal data. of employees, customers and partners.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n The Social pillar is divided into actions aimed at improving the quality of life, safety and health of the organization's employees and their families, and initiatives aimed at benefiting the community of Campinas and region. In this regard, the highlights of the report include encouraging employees to graduate, fostering entrepreneurship and actions in the health area (medical consultations and labor gymnastics sessions, among others). The community in the region, on the other hand, benefited from donations of almost two tons (precisely 1,820 kilos) of food and hygiene products and 50 tablets for the remote education of needy students during the pandemic.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n In the Environmental pillar, the Sustainability Report points out, among the highlights in 2021, the sending of 48.4% of waste generated for reverse logistics or recycling, the treatment of 33,447 m\u00b3 of effluents and, also, the reduction in water consumption of 1,300 m\u00b3 per month, thanks to the implementation of a water reuse system used in one of its laboratories. The first inventory of Greenhouse Gases carried out by CPQD revealed that, in 2021, 636,611 CO2e (t) were emitted, with indirect emissions corresponding to 77.4% of the total and direct emissions, to 22.6%.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n \u201cThe inventory made it possible to know the amount of emissions generated by the CPQD operation in 2021, which facilitates the planning and implementation of programs and practices aimed at reducing GHG emissions\u201d, says Hodgson. \u201cOur objective is to adapt our operation and the impact of our solutions to a low carbon economy and also to preserve the environment\u201d, he concludes.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
