Due to this approach, the company has an extensive portfolio made up of advanced systems, such as\u00a0<strong>NEC OptoMize<\/strong>, which is now being presented to the Brazilian market.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-51105\" src=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/retinal-biometrics-technology-with-man-s-eye-digital-remix-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"209\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The solution developed by the Japanese multinational and which has been used for more than five years by the renowned British healthcare system, the National Health System (NHS), uses Artificial Intelligence technology to detect the presence of diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy among asymptomatic patients with diabetes. In addition to having state-of-the-art image manipulation and classification tools, one of the great differences of NEC Optomize is the fact that it uses a machine learning system, which makes it possible to exponentially increase the automatic screening capacity, taking into account which compares the characteristics of the samples collected and saves them for each examination. \u201cWith this type of technology, we are able to make the software &#039;learn&#039; with each session in which it is used and constantly improve\u201d, he comments\u00a0<strong>Cristiano Blanez, Director of Innovation at NEC in Brazil.<\/strong><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The executive also says that NEC Optomize is a highly scalable system, as it is software hosted in the cloud and is compatible with most medical equipment used for clinical vision examinations. \u201cThe use of this solution fully meets the needs of countries like Brazil, where territorial distances are large and, often, there are no specialists focused on the treatment of diabetic retinopathy\u201d, he explains.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the purpose of retinal screening, the NEC OptoMize solution also functions as a platform responsible for managing the entire process carried out by clinics, from consultation management to interactions with patients. Through a functional interface, which allows the management of medical records and other data involved, it is possible to reduce manual work and, thus, avoid errors.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Second <strong>Cristiano Blanez, Director of Innovation at NEC in Brazil<\/strong>, the advanced management automation presented by the product reduces the possibility of failures and improves service. \u201cNEC OptoMize has been helping the healthcare system in England to detect retinopathy in diabetic patients for years, with excellent results, and throughout the entire treatment journey. It is a complete solution, with 24\/7 access to treatment data, comprising a set of integrated reports\u201d, says the executive.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Blanez also says that the company is bringing
